Longwood Biopharmaceuticals is a Shanghai-based innovative drug developer founded in 2012 by Dr. Zhe Wang, a National Special Expert and former mentee of Nobel laureate E.J. Corey at Harvard, with over 30 years of experience across the full drug development chain . The company focuses on First-in-class and Best-in-class therapeutics with global IP, holding nearly 100 invention patents including more than 30 PCT international patents, and has built a pipeline spanning anti-infection, anti-viral, and anti-cancer candidates .

In October 2025, the company raised hundreds of millions of RMB in a Series B+ round led by Qiming Venture Partners, with Xiamen C&D, Jinyi Fuxin, Chenyao Capital, and CCIC joining, to fund core pipeline clinical trials and global expansion . Qiming has since highlighted two clinical milestones: the first patient dosing in a Phase Ib/II trial for LW231, a dual-function, dual-target hepatitis B drug, in late 2025 , and the first patient enrolled in a Phase III trial for LW402, a selective JAK1 inhibitor for autoimmune disease, by March 2026 .
