Longwood Valley

Longwood Valley (长木谷医疗科技有限公司 / Changmugu) is a Beijing-based orthopedic AI company founded by Zhang Yiling, a Harvard Medical School postdoctoral researcher and orthopedic medical doctor . The company develops AI solutions for orthopedic surgery, with a product line focused on AI-assisted joint replacement and surgical planning .

FreeS Fund (峰瑞资本) was an early backer, leading Longwood Valley's angel round and continuing to follow on through its Pre-A round in 2019, when Legend Star (联想之星) led and FreeS Fund co-invested with Wanhui Capital . The company raised 54 million RMB in its Series B round by late 2021, bringing its total funding to 66 million RMB within roughly a year . At that stage, FreeS Fund described Longwood Valley's AI solutions as maturing, with commercial loops clarifying and team building becoming more complete .

In late 2019, Longwood Valley also announced a strategic partnership with Johnson & Johnson Medical .
