Luowei Technology

Luowei Technology (洛微科技, also known as LuminWave) is a LiDAR company applying silicon photonics to autonomous driving, industrial automation, and embodied intelligence robotics . Founded by Dr. Ningning Feng and co-founded by Xiaochen Sun, who serves as CTO , the company has drawn repeated backing from FreeS Fund, whose partner Yang Yongcheng led the early investment . Its technical bet is on FMCW (Frequency-Modulated Continuous Wave) ranging via integrated silicon photonic chips, which it claims enables 4D transient velocity-field perception on top of conventional 3D sensing—an edge in reliability, integration, cost, and robustness . As of early 2026, its self-developed LiDAR had already shipped into domestic top-tier commercial heavy-truck L2+ pre-installation programs and hundreds of automation and robotics customers, with the company pushing further into autonomous driving, lawn-mowing robots, and embodied intelligence . The team includes researchers from MIT and other global institutions .
