Maifei Technology (麦飞科技) is a precision-agriculture AI company founded in 2016 that uses remote sensing and computer vision to monitor crop health and guide targeted pesticide application . Its core technology combines proprietary near-ground hyperspectral imaging with AI algorithms to generate real-time, field-scale maps of crop growth and pest conditions, then produces variable-rate prescription maps for precision spraying . The company structured itself around three divisions—technology, agriculture, and space—and by early 2019 had expanded its service coverage to over 2 million mu across 33 districts and counties, with more than 300 employees . It also began exploring overseas markets that year .

The company raised a RMB 25 million Pre-A round in 2018 led by Baidu Venture and Gaojie Capital, with FreeS Fund participating , followed by an over-RMB-100 million Series A in early 2019 led by Guangfa Qianhe, with follow-on from prior investors including FreeS Fund and Baidu Venture . FreeS Fund, which backed Maifei across multiple rounds, noted that the company's business scale had grown several-fold within a year of its investment . Maifei was recognized by 36Kr as "King of Smart Agriculture" in 2019 .
