Nowcoder

Nowcoder (牛客) is a China-focused campus recruitment platform founded in September 2014 by Xiangyu Ye, a former Google software engineer who later worked at Renren and Alipay before starting the company . It operates what it calls a "community + tools + content" model, combining job listings with a highly engaged user community where students share interview experiences, practice on problem sets, and discuss offer decisions .

The platform has become particularly dominant in tech recruiting. As of early 2023, it claimed over 8 million community users, with more than 53% holding master's degrees or higher, and covered over 78% of science and technology graduates from top-tier universities . Major internet companies including Alibaba, Tencent, ByteDance, JD.com, Baidu, and Meituan are described as long-term clients , and the platform has expanded into fintech and smart manufacturing sectors .

Nowcoder raised a $50 million Series B in February 2023 led by Sequoia China, Shunwei Capital, 5Y Capital, Tiger Global, and Shenqi Capital (58 Industry Fund) . Ye has described the company's evolution from a consumer-facing coding practice community into business services—first online assessment tools, then video interviews, and more recently AI-powered interviews as it adapts to changing graduate employment trends . The company also acquired resume tool "Zhiye Resume" in 2022 .
