PPIO

PPIO (派欧云) is an edge-cloud and distributed-computing infrastructure company founded in 2018 by Yao Xin (姚欣), previously the founder of PPTV, and co-founder Wang Wenyu (王闻宇) . It positions itself as a provider of low-latency, high-bandwidth edge cloud services and solutions, with its network covering over 1,000 counties and districts across more than 30 provinces in China as of 2022 .

The company has raised multiple rounds from BlueRun Ventures, which led its angel and Pre-A rounds and continued to back its roughly RMB 250 million Series A in 2022 alongside Panlin Capital, CCV, Zhangjiang Science & Technology Venture Capital, and IMO Ventures . By that point, cumulative funding had exceeded RMB 400 million .

More recently, PPIO has pivoted toward AI infrastructure. In September 2024 it launched a "compute cloud" product line including a serverless offering for LLM inference and a Model API service, aiming at what it described as a 1,000× cost reduction for inference workloads . It also appointed Huazhong University of Technology professor Jin Hai, a noted distributed-computing scholar, as chair of its technical committee to guide strategy in distributed cloud and AI infrastructure .
