Singleron (新格元) is a Nanjing-based biotechnology company focused on high-throughput single-cell sequencing and multi-omics analysis, founded in January 2018 by CEO Nan Fang (方南) and Yale University professor Fan Rong (樊荣), whose proprietary microfluidic single-cell processing technology the company exclusively licensed from Yale . Its core platform digitizes genetic information at the individual cell level—what Nan Fang describes as a "genetics microscope" that can parse the roughly 40 trillion cells in the human body—enabling applications in scientific research, clinical testing, and drug development . FreeS Fund (峰瑞资本) was an early backer, participating in Singleron's angel round in 2018 when the company had little more than a pitch deck, and has continued to highlight it as a portfolio company across subsequent years . By late 2021, Singleron had reached a nearly $100 million Series B, with investors including 6 Dimensions Capital, Lilly Asia Ventures, and ARCH Venture Partners joining the cap table . The company has also applied its single-cell technology to antibody drug development for diseases including COVID-19 .
