Southern University of Science and Technology

Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech, 南方科技大学) is a Shenzhen-based higher-education institution whose faculty have become notable figures in China's hard-tech and robotics startup ecosystem. As 暗涌Waves recounted, in 2010 automation professor Zexiang Li of Hong Kong University of Science and Technology volunteered to join its founding team during early reform efforts, bringing colleagues with him in what he described as a "generation's dream of higher-education reform" . More recently, the university appears in venture-capital coverage as a talent pipeline: Zhang Wei, a SUSTech professor, is also founder and CEO of embodied-AI robotics startup LimX Dynamics (逐际动力), and has spoken on autonomous systems and general-purpose robotics at 5Y Capital events . Differential Intelligence Flight (Weifen Zhifei), a 5Y Capital portfolio company working on aerial embodied intelligence, likewise draws team members from SUSTech alongside Zhejiang University, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Hong Kong University of Science and Technology .
