StartDT (奇点云) is an independent third-party data technology group founded in 2016, built around a "data cloud + analytics cloud" product matrix . The company positions itself as a provider of unified, open, neutral and secure data cloud infrastructure alongside full-domain, full-scenario analytics tools — its flagship offerings include the data cloud platform, data storage and compute engines, data security engines, growth analytics, and customer data platforms .

The group's formation accelerated in 2022 through what was described as the data industry's only major merger that year: StartDT acquired GrowingIO, an analytics cloud leader, then integrated products and teams under the unified StartDT identity within six months . By early 2023 the combined entity reported serving over 1,500 clients across retail, manufacturing, finance, and government sectors , and in December 2023 it unveiled its self-developed next-generation data cloud operating system, StartDT SimbaOS .

Founder and CEO Zhang Jinyin (行在) traces the company's origin to his earlier work at Alibaba Cloud and frames its mission around "democratizing big data" — making data intelligence accessible beyond tech giants . The firm has drawn capital from a mix of strategic and financial investors across multiple rounds: 5Y Capital led its Pre-A and A rounds , ByteDance led its B2 round in early 2021 and followed on in later rounds , Taikang Life Insurance led its C1 round in late 2021 , and Yuhang State Investment led its C2 round at the end of 2022 .
