Syneron Bio (元思生肽) is a biotech company developing novel oral macrocyclic peptide drugs through its proprietary Synova™ platform, an AI-enabled high-throughput discovery engine . Founded by CEO Zhang Xiao, the company has built a pipeline focused on oncology, autoimmune, metabolic, and rare diseases . It secured a major strategic partnership with AstraZeneca in March 2025, with the pharma giant paying $75 million upfront and up to $3.4 billion in milestones for access to the Synova™ platform and co-development of first-in-class macrocyclic peptide drugs for chronic conditions . In March 2026, Syneron Bio closed a $150 million Series B led by an international biotech fund, with Decheng Capital and DHVC VGC as co-leads, and follow-on participation from ADIA, Temasek's Daming Capital, Qiming Venture Partners, and existing backers including AstraZeneca, Eli Lilly Asia Fund, and 5Y Capital . As 5Y Capital partner Jing Xutian put it, the company is "opening an entirely new druggable space" with its intelligent technology platform .
