The Economic Observer

The Economic Observer (经济观察报) is a Chinese business newspaper. Li Xiang, the journalist and later founder of Monolith Capital, served as a lead writer (主笔) and editorial assistant to the editor-in-chief (总编助理) there early in his career, before moving on to roles at First Financial Weekly, Bloomberg Businessweek Chinese edition, and other publications . The paper also operates research units such as the China Automotive New Supply Chain Research Institute, which has produced industry whitepapers on autonomous driving .
