Weichong Semiconductor is a Shanghai-based semiconductor metrology and inspection equipment company founded in 2021 by an overseas-returned semiconductor technical team working alongside domestic senior scientists and engineers . It specializes in wafer defect detection, with proprietary equipment including second-harmonic and thermal-wave systems that enable non-contact, non-destructive, online, rapid internal inspection of wafers . The company shipped its first BRAVERY 3000 equipment to a major domestic customer in July 2023 and had a new device completed and shipped by end-2024, with three equipment types already qualified at leading domestic customers . Weichong has raised multiple rounds from investors including Yunqi Capital (angel), Jolmo Investment Management, Capital Technology Development Group, and Xiaoyu Leading Fund .
