Yanpei Cao

Yanpei Cao is a co-founder and chief scientist at VAST, a generative 3D AI company . He holds a bachelor's and PhD in computer science from Tsinghua University, and previously conducted research at Kuaishou Y-tech, Tencent AI Lab, and Tencent PCG ARC Lab, with a focus on 3D vision and generative 3D . In 2025, he was named to the MIT Technology Review's "35 Innovators Under 35" China list . As of September 2026, he was described as an early user and creator of VAST's P2.0 product .
