YiDa Capital is a China-based investment fund with a distinctive Middle East strategy: it invests with Asian resources but is rooted in the region, rather than treating it merely as a source of capital . The fund was established by a team with backgrounds from institutions including J&T Express and Saudi Aramco . Its first dollar fund closed at $400 million with Jada, the fund-of-funds arm of Saudi Arabia's sovereign wealth fund PIF, as a cornerstone LP; that vehicle had deployed into 18 companies as of late 2023 . YiDa was then raising a second $1 billion fund, also with Jada as cornerstone LP, targeting a close in early 2024 . Among its disclosed investments, YiDa has backed J&T Express alongside Middle Eastern investors, injecting tens of millions of dollars to improve operations in the Middle East and North Africa .
