Yikai Wang
王一恺
Yikai Wang is a biotech founder and former investor who moved from industry to venture capital and back again. He holds degrees from Peking University and Harvard, and spent time at WuXi AppTec's domestic new drug R&D services division before joining FreeS Fund (峰瑞资本) in March 2018 as a biotech investor . At FreeS he sourced deals including an angel investment in Chemical.AI (智化科技) in March 2019, where he met founder Xia Ning and decided to back the AI-driven chemistry platform within half an hour . In September 2020 he founded Keen Therapeutics (科因生物), a biotech company positioned to leverage new tool platforms and efficiency technologies for globally competitive drug development . As he described it in a 2021 FreeS Fund interview, his path—industry to investment and back to industry—gave him unusual exposure to the full R&D chain at a relatively young age .
