Today, game AI company Hyperparameter announced the completion of a $30 million Series A+ funding round, led by 5Y Capital (formerly Morningside Capital) with participation from Gaorong Ventures.

Founded in early 2019, Hyperparameter is dedicated to transforming game content production through artificial intelligence. Its team spans both AI and gaming, with full-stack capabilities covering "AI research + AI commercialization + AI game development" — making it one of the few teams globally to have successfully deployed AI in large-scale commercial games and generated revenue. Founder Kakar Liu previously served as general manager of Tencent AI Lab and led the development of Go AI "Fine Art" and Honor of Kings AI "Wukong."

Drawing on deep expertise and leading capabilities in machine learning, reinforcement learning, and large-scale systems engineering, Hyperparameter has built its game AI platform "Delta," which adopts an entirely new "AI + game" development pipeline to drive paradigm innovation on both the development and player experience sides. Currently, the Delta platform can orchestrate over 500,000 cores across cloud environments, support more than 500,000 concurrent AI agents online, and daily serves hundreds of millions of players across over 40 countries with hundreds of billions of API calls. Hyperparameter's AI services have already delivered substantial commercial value to multiple games with annual gross revenues exceeding 1 billion RMB, spanning genres including sandbox, open world, FPS, MOBA, and casual competitive.

Founder Kakar Liu stated that this funding round will, on one hand, further upgrade the Delta platform to deliver higher-quality services to a broader customer base; on the other hand, it will continue to increase resource investment in AI-native games, recruiting more top talent and teams from China and abroad to jointly create disruptive products. Liu noted: "Since the Fine Art era, one thing we've always believed is that AI is alive. During training, we can watch it learn to walk like a child, gradually evolving more advanced intelligence. In the future, the potential of game AI certainly won't be limited to low-dimensional scenarios like improving efficiency or reducing costs — it will be higher-dimensional and more disruptive, such as defining new gameplay mechanics, generating content for games and even virtual worlds, and becoming an indispensable part of them. The revolution is coming." Yue Bin, founding partner of Gaorong Ventures, said: "We're excited to see the Hyperparameter team's exploration of AI + games, using AI to reconstruct game content production and deliver real commercial value. We're also amazed by the speed of AI's autonomous learning and evolution in virtual worlds. This gives us confidence that AI will continue evolving toward artificial general intelligence — first evolving and creating in virtual worlds, and one day feeding back into our real world."
