XYZ Robotics Leads the Robotic Hand-Eye Coordination Race, Closes $35 Million Series B Round
Accelerating the arrival of fully autonomous perception and manipulation for robots.
XYZ Robotics recently announced the completion of a $35 million Series B round led by Capital Today, with existing shareholders Gaorong Ventures, 5Y Capital, and Source Code Capital all participating above their pro-rata amounts. Gaorong Ventures had led XYZ Robotics' Series A round in 2019 and continued to invest in subsequent rounds.
Following this round, the company will increase R&D investment, deepen vertical integration of its technology stack, and build out scalable sales and delivery systems.
Founded in June 2018 and headquartered in Shanghai, XYZ Robotics provides end-to-end 3D vision-based picking solutions for logistics parcel sorting, depalletizing and palletizing, industrial machine tending and assembly — all powered by leading robotic hand-eye coordination technology — accelerating the arrival of fully autonomous robotic perception and manipulation.
Human repetitive labor in factories and warehouses can be broken down into walking, manual operation, and visual inspection. XYZ Robotics aims to tackle the largest and most tedious category: manual operation. The company's vision is "Pick Anything. Place Anywhere," with the goal of becoming a technology-driven company that mass-produces a new kind of labor force and transforms societal productivity.
Leveraging distinctive strengths in 3D vision algorithms, motion control algorithms, and end-effector design, XYZ Robotics has dramatically accelerated its commercial deployment over the past year. Its robotic picking solutions have already been deployed across e-commerce, logistics, industrial, consumer goods, pharmaceutical, and consumer product sectors, with products widely adopted by industry-leading companies.

What makes XYZ Robotics unique is its deep understanding of robotics at a fundamental level. Through full-stack technology and integrated hardware-software solutions, the company enables robots to achieve optimal technical performance and usability, delivering genuine value to customers. In complex scenarios such as small-item unstructured picking in logistics and deep-bin unstructured machine tending in industrial settings, XYZ Robotics holds a generational advantage over competitors in critical metrics including cycle time, SKU and workpiece coverage, and bin-clearing rates.
On this funding round, Jiaji Zhou, founder and CEO of XYZ Robotics, said: "First, I want to thank our team for their continued dedication. We share a unified belief in building the best possible robotic products and delivering real value to society. Over the past three years, we've persevered through every challenge and kept improving. We're honored to have earned Capital Today's trust, and we believe this partnership will help further strengthen our capabilities across the board and achieve new milestones. I also want to especially thank our existing shareholders for their continued above-pro-rata support across multiple rounds and their unwavering commitment to our mission and vision. Enabling autonomous robotic perception and manipulation — hand-eye coordination — is an endless journey. Going forward, the company will both scale products within our current technological boundaries and develop and integrate new technology stacks to unlock new incremental application scenarios."
Yue Bin, founding partner of Gaorong Ventures, said: "Making robot hands as dexterous as human hands is a challenge that the world's top teams are all working to crack. From autonomous robotic perception and learning about the physical world, to making dynamic responses based on environmental changes, to operating like humans — each of these represents a complex technical problem. We've been glad to accompany XYZ Robotics and watch them continuously push through these challenges. Equally valuable is the founding team's deepening insight into commercial scenarios, with product development, sales, and delivery all advancing in parallel to bring genuinely valuable products to customers. We wish XYZ Robotics continued success in deepening its work in this field and bringing about a technological revolution that liberates human hands."
