4D mmWave Radar Chip Startup Muye Micro Raises 100 Million Yuan in Pre-A Round
Enhancing 4D imaging perception capabilities to advance autonomous driving in the automotive industry.

Muyan Microelectronics (hereinafter "Muyan Micro"), a leader in 4D millimeter-wave radar chip technology, recently announced the completion of a nine-figure RMB Pre-A funding round. The round was co-led by 5Y Capital and Kaifeng Investment, with participation from Redpoint China Ventures and Yiling Capital. Existing investors Hua Capital and Gaorong Ventures also added to their stakes. Gaorong Ventures had previously invested in Muyan Micro's angel round in early 2022 and continued its support in this round. Proceeds will go toward advancing chip commercialization and delivering mass production for alpha customers.
Founded in December 2021 in Shenzhen, Muyan Micro is a high-tech enterprise dedicated to developing 4D high-precision imaging radar, integrating design, development, and sales.
Millimeter-wave radar offers high resolution, strong anti-interference performance, excellent detection capabilities, and compact size, making it a critical sensor in autonomous driving and ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems). As a breakthrough technology, 4D millimeter-wave imaging radar extends radar functionality beyond range, velocity, and azimuth to include elevation and relative velocity — delivering high resolution, strong perception, false alarm discrimination, and ultra-long detection range (up to 300 meters) under any lighting or weather conditions. It is applicable across all levels of vehicle autonomy and vehicle categories.
Muyan Micro operates R&D centers and labs in Shenzhen, Shanghai, the UK, Germany, and Switzerland, bringing together specialists from China and abroad. Its core research team consists of multiple PhDs from top global universities, averaging 15 years of experience in chip design or radar algorithms at leading international semiconductor companies, with prior leadership roles in 77-79GHz millimeter-wave radar chip development at major global manufacturers.

Guided by modern engineering design principles, Muyan Micro focuses on enhancing 4D imaging perception capabilities for the automotive industry's autonomous driving evolution. In December 2022, the company successfully developed its first 77GHz millimeter-wave radar chip.
Looking ahead, Muyan Micro's 4D imaging radar chip development remains centered on user needs, striving to continuously improve the cost-performance and differentiation of customers' end products — infusing terminal applications with the vitality of "core" innovation to create a smarter, better future.
