GravityXR Closes Hundreds of Millions of RMB in Series A Funding to Advance Dedicated Chip for "XR Spatial Computing"

GravityXR, an XR (Extended Reality) spatial computing chip design company, recently completed a Series A financing round of several hundred million RMB. Since its founding in September 2021, the company has now completed four funding rounds total. This round was led by Monolith, with participation from Ningbo Tongshang Fund, China Merchants Capital, and Haiding Capital. Existing investors miHoYo, Yaotu Capital, Tongge Venture Capital, Zhongyuan Capital, 37 Interactive Entertainment, and Sequoia Capital also continued to invest. Gaorong Ventures had previously led GravityXR's angel round in 2021 and also participated in its Pre-A round.

Chips as the Platform, Driving Ultimate XR Experiences

Addressing multi-dimensional needs alongside device power constraints, GravityXR is dedicated to building a chip that delivers ultimate XR experiences. This chip provides targeted performance optimization for XR-specific components (displays, perception sensors, etc.), offering low-latency real-time 4K and 120Hz image rendering, sensor data processing, and mixed reality interaction capabilities. Its self-developed algorithms not only reduce motion sickness from image content, provide image correction capabilities, and enhance display effects, but also enable entirely new interaction modes for devices.

System-Level Test Platform for Early Verification of Chip Algorithms and Metrics
Before tape-out, GravityXR collaborated with major industry players to develop a system-level test platform. This partnership enables early verification of chip algorithms and architecture, demonstration of partial chip function integration, and real-time VST effects. Additionally, the platform can demonstrate data integration with main chips, proving the system's efficient data transmission and processing capabilities — thereby showcasing GravityXR's technical capabilities and innovation to potential customers.
