We are endlessly curious about space, and we look forward to GalaxySpace taking us to explore a broader future!

A rocket pierces the desert sky, and word of triumph travels from the stars.

At 11:02 AM on January 16, 2020, China successfully launched its first low-orbit broadband communications satellite with a transmission capacity of 10 Gbps — GalaxySpace's inaugural satellite — aboard the Kuaizhou-1A carrier rocket from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center. The satellite entered its planned orbit and the mission was declared a complete success.

The GalaxySpace inaugural satellite was independently developed by GalaxySpace (Beijing) Technology Co., Ltd. to international advanced standards. Operating in Q/V and Ka communication bands, the satellite features 10 Gbps transparent forwarding communications capability and can provide broadband communication services to users via satellite terminals. Once in orbit, it will conduct technical and service validation.

At 12:36 PM, the GalaxySpace inaugural satellite received its first orbit of telemetry data, with its solar panels successfully deployed — all systems nominal.

The Kuaizhou-1A carrier rocket, developed by ExPace Technology (a subsidiary of Sanjiang Group under China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation), is a small solid-fuel launch vehicle with internationally standardized interfaces. Designed primarily to provide launch services for low-orbit small satellites, it features high orbital insertion accuracy, short preparation cycles, and low launch costs. This marked the Kuaizhou-1A's eighth launch mission.

GalaxySpace officially began operations in 2018, founded by Xu Ming, co-founder and former president of Cheetah Mobile. The company deeply integrates aerospace and internet DNA, adopting agile development and rapid iteration to mass-produce low-cost, high-performance 5G satellites aimed at solving global 5G network access and coverage challenges. In 2018, Gaorong Ventures participated in GalaxySpace's Series A funding round.
