Specializing in antibody discovery CRO services to accelerate antibody drug development.

On August 31, antibody discovery CRO Biointron announced the completion of a nearly RMB 500 million Series B funding round. The round was jointly invested by more than ten institutions including Cornerstone Capital, Jifeng Capital, Gaorong Ventures, Tianhui Capital, and Haitong Venture Capital, with existing shareholders Furong Investment and Chengshu Investment also participating again.

The proceeds will be primarily used to expand CRO service capacity, build smart manufacturing R&D and service production lines, and continue strengthening overseas channel development.

Founded in 2012, Biointron is a national high-tech enterprise focused on antibody discovery CRO services. It is also a Shanghai Science and Technology Little Giant Cultivation Enterprise and a Shanghai Specialized, Refined, Characteristic, and Innovative Enterprise. The company has R&D and production facilities in Shanghai's Zhoupu district and Taizhou, Jiangsu province, as well as commercial and logistics operations in the United States.

Leveraging an industry-leading ultra-high-throughput recombinant protein production platform, the company has established a comprehensive technology platform covering the entire antibody discovery workflow, from target protein development and single B-cell antibody screening to antibody humanization, antibody affinity maturation, nanobody development, and stable cell line development. To date, Biointron has provided end-to-end R&D service support to over a thousand downstream life science companies globally, including drug development firms, in vitro diagnostic reagent companies, vaccine manufacturers, and cell therapy enterprises.

Specifically, Biointron's high-throughput recombinant antibody expression platform and single-cell antibody development platform utilize microfluidic sorting and identification technology for rapid candidate molecule screening. Its phage display antibody development platform features extensive library construction and panning experience with fully human antibody libraries and various species immune libraries. The company's alpaca and shark nanobody development platforms support bispecific antibody R&D and cell therapy applications. Biointron also holds global licensing rights for ECACC's CHO-K1 cell line, enabling high-expression stable cell line development, PD pilot process optimization, and host cell licensing. Additionally, the company has established antibody engineering modification platforms including antibody humanization and affinity maturation, as well as a comprehensive pharmacological evaluation platform. It also offers a large inventory of in vivo experimental drug reference antibodies with validated activity.

Biointron is committed to building an industry-leading, highly specialized team, with the goal of becoming a world-class, globally competitive antibody discovery CRO supplier that accelerates antibody drug development.
