XVERSE Unveils PHASIG Algorithm for 3D Motion Generation, Incorporating SIGGRAPH Asia Best Paper Nominee

In December 2023, XVERSE released PHASIG (Physics-based Humanlike Agent-Scene Interaction Generation), an algorithm that enables AI agents to think, plan, and act within 3D environments. By inputting text describing a character's task, the AI automatically plans and generates 3D movements, intelligently adapting to changes in scene and character intent to create immersive 3D content.

PHASIG represents XVERSE's continued exploration at the intersection of AI and 3D, combining the company's large language models with reinforcement learning, physics simulation, and other complex technologies. It also incorporates algorithms for AI character motion generation published by team members at SIGGRAPH Asia 2023, which received a Best Paper nomination.

Compared to previous 3D motion generation techniques, PHASIG delivers a "double efficiency" breakthrough: in speed, it dramatically reduces human labor and time costs through extensive exploration and simulated training in physics-based environments; in quality, it enables intelligent agents to automatically complete highly complex tasks and generate corresponding diverse movements with greater realism and vividness.

Pulnovo's PADN Series Launches, Ushering in New Era for Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension Treatment

In December 2023, Pulnovo Medical's PADN (Pulmonary Artery Denervation) series — the world's first such products — comprising a disposable circular pulmonary artery radiofrequency ablation catheter and a pulmonary artery radiofrequency ablation system, received formal approval from China's National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) for market launch. This marks not only the birth of the first domestically originated PAH (pulmonary arterial hypertension) device approval in China, but also represents major progress in bringing long-anticipated PADN technology into clinical practice, opening a new chapter in PAH treatment.

The PADN series is an innovative, self-developed "First-in-Class" PAH treatment device from China that successfully fills a global gap in interventional therapy for pulmonary arterial hypertension.

Meanwhile, PADN products are steadily advancing on their international expansion path. Following FDA Breakthrough Device designation in 2021, the PADN products recently received Humanitarian Use Device (HUD) designation from the U.S. FDA for treating the full Group I pulmonary hypertension category. With support from the American Medical Association (AMA), the products achieved a critical milestone for U.S. Medicare coverage during the post-market clinical phase, securing an important coding milestone approved by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).

Firefly Biotech's First-in-Class Chronic Pain Drug FB1003 Approved for Clinical Trials in Australia

On December 21, 2023, Firefly Biotech announced that its self-developed monoclonal antibody novel drug FB1003 had received Phase I clinical trial ethics approval from the Alfred Ethics Committee in Australia. Following clinical trial notification filing with the Australian Therapeutic Goods Administration, relevant clinical trials will commence shortly.

With a completely novel mechanism of action distinct from traditional opioids or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, FB1003 holds promise to open entirely new therapeutic pathways for chronic pain conditions worldwide, addressing this massive unmet medical need.

Through its unique modulation of TrkA signaling, FB1003 produces analgesic effects while avoiding adverse reactions caused by complete NGF blockade. Preclinical studies have demonstrated clear analgesic effects with a strong safety profile, suggesting an excellent therapeutic safety window for chronic pain treatment.

Unknown's FMT Drug XBI-302 Receives FDA Feedback, Cleared for Phase II Clinical Trials

Unknown recently announced that its fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) drug, codenamed XBI-302, has received feedback from the U.S. FDA on its End-of-Phase 1 (EOP1) application, clearing it to proceed to Phase II clinical trials for the treatment of acute graft-versus-host disease (aGvHD). XBI-302 became the first FMT drug from a Chinese microbiome therapeutics company to receive clinical trial approval in 2021.

XBI-302's primary indication is gastrointestinal acute graft-versus-host disease, a major subtype of GvHD — a common complication following allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. XBI-302 replaces damaged gut microbiota with healthy flora, helping patients rebuild their immune systems without interfering with standard GvHD treatment, ultimately reducing disease relapse and improving recovery outcomes.

With variations in donors and the intestinal bacteria they provide, FMT drugs hold promise for treating a broader range of diseases. Moving forward, Unknown will accelerate XBI-302's clinical development while leveraging its AI-powered microbiome research and industrial translation platform to further expand the therapeutic potential of FMT across additional indications.
