Embodied Intelligence "Ace Team" Assembles, Kunlun Xing Robotics Closes Three Consecutive Major Funding Rounds

Recently, Kunlun Robotics announced the completion of a three-round series of funding. Less than three months since its incorporation, the company has raised billions of RMB in total, setting a new record for the fastest fundraising by a domestic embodied-intelligence startup moving from zero to one in 2026.

Kunlun Robotics' three funding rounds were jointly led by top-tier domestic VC firms including Gaorong Ventures, Hillhouse, CASSTAR, Eastern Bell Capital, Huaye Capital, Sinovation Ventures, Heart Capital, and C&D Capital, the investment arm of C&D Group. Gaorong Ventures was a co-lead investor in the company's first round and subsequently made outsized follow-on investments in the next two rounds.

The entry and continued backing of these leading institutions reflects the industry's recognition of Kunlun Robotics' comprehensive capabilities, potential for scenario-based deployment, and long-term value.

Kunlun Robotics Assembles a "Dream Team"

One reason Kunlun Robotics has captured capital-market attention is its assembly of a top-tier "dream team."

The company's founder, Ren Geng, is a versatile chief executive whose résumé spans serving as the commercial lead for Alibaba Cloud's 100-billion-RMB revenue business, serving as an overseas country CEO during Huawei's global expansion, and steering a large group with over 50,000 employees. During his tenure at Huawei, Ren was among the company's youngest country CEOs, overseeing all three business groups — carrier, enterprise, and consumer — in an overseas market, spanning solutions, sales, delivery, procurement, supply chain, and government and public relations. After joining Alibaba, Ren became one of the youngest executives and youngest vice presidents in the group, successively serving as president of Alibaba Cloud China, president of Alibaba Cloud's video cloud and edge cloud R&D, and chief of staff for Alibaba Cloud. After leaving Alibaba, Ren served as president of ENN Group, where he drove the large conglomerate's strategic布局 in frontier areas including industry-specific large models, digital intelligent agents, and embodied intelligence.

Co-founder Lang Xianpeng is one of the rare AI technology leaders in the embodied-intelligence space who has "taken autonomous driving from zero to one to one hundred," bringing both cutting-edge technical expertise and mass-production experience. Previously, he served as president of autonomous driving at Li Auto and was the "first employee" of Li Auto's intelligent driving division, building the company's complete intelligent driving R&D system from scratch, assembling the core technical team, and establishing an industry-benchmark data closed loop that laid the foundation for Li Auto's top-tier intelligent driving capabilities. He spearheaded the "Weicheng Initiative" to push Li Auto toward full in-house intelligent driving development, delivering mass-production applications for highway NOA, urban NOA, and mapless NOA. In 2024, he led his team to complete the industry's first end-to-end plus VLM solution in under 100 days. In 2025, he delivered the industry's first Vision-Language-Action Model for autonomous driving, helping Li Auto's intelligent driving capabilities rise to the top tier.

The team includes algorithm experts and R&D leads who have lived through Li Auto's autonomous driving journey from zero to one to one hundred and possess extensive hands-on AI deployment experience; system builders who have led hardcore technology teams at Huawei and overseen the mass production of millions of units of world-class hardware products; and R&D-plus-commercial hybrid talent with deep practical experience in large state-owned enterprise market development and industry solution deployment at Alibaba Cloud.

Committed to Software-Hardware Integration

Building a Mass-Producible Full-Stack Technical System

From day one, Kunlun Robotics has anchored itself to the core goals of engineering for mass production and commercial scenario deployment, insisting on full-stack in-house development of both the AI "brain" and hardware body, and constructing a fully autonomous and controllable technical system.

Ren Geng believes that AI, as the core of intelligence, determines the ceiling of embodied intelligence; hardware, as the vessel of intelligence, determines its floor; and the two are complementary and indispensable. Continuous AI innovation capability and hardware body R&D constitute the technical moat for embodied-intelligence companies. Yet Ren also emphasizes that beyond these two technical systems — embodied AI innovation and hardware body R&D — companies must also build commercial systems from opportunity to cash collection, manage supply-chain ecosystems, and establish delivery and service systems to truly achieve mass production and close the business loop, together creating genuine "mass-production acceleration" for embodied intelligence.

To this end, Kunlun Robotics is pursuing a software-hardware integrated approach, targeting high-quality mass production, building full-stack in-house core technical capabilities, and advancing both "brain" and hardware body development in parallel.

Addressing widespread industry pain points including lack of physical causal reasoning, poor scenario generalization, and "black box" model decision-making, Kunlun Robotics has introduced physical causal modeling capabilities on top of the internationally mainstream Vision-Language-Action Model (VLA) framework, constructing a dual-system robotic intelligence architecture centered on the Kunlun World Model (KWM), with original technical contributions across three dimensions: physical reasoning, data efficiency, and cross-embodiment transfer.

On the data front, Kunlun Robotics is pioneering a paradigm shift from "data closed loop" to "data compilation," abandoning the industry's惯性 of crude data accumulation. Through structured processing, task explicitization, and failure-sample沉淀, raw data is transformed into core assets for causal learning, forming a self-sustaining, iteratively improving data production line that builds long-term technical moats.

Confronting the industry's lack of evaluation frameworks for models' true generalization capabilities, Kunlun Robotics has also built the industry's first counterfactual evaluation system, using real physical outcomes as the judging criterion to precisely distinguish models' genuine generalization ability at equivalent fitting precision.

From models to data, layered with the counterfactual evaluation system and "one brain, multiple bodies" cross-embodiment transfer technology, Kunlun Robotics' "brain" solution has a clear objective: high-efficiency model iteration, low-cost scenario and cross-embodiment generalization, breaking through the industry bottleneck where lab-bound technology struggles to scale — with everything oriented toward engineering for mass production and deployment.

Kunlun Robotics is also building an integrated full-stack hardware in-house system spanning body development, motion control, and integration testing. In development logic, it adopts a software-defined-hardware forward development model to fundamentally solve the industry's chronic software-hardware disconnect and the mismatch between action execution and AI planning; the underlying motion-control core algorithms are fully self-developed, ensuring high-precision, low-jitter, high-compliance, and strong anti-interference operation; in body architecture design, heterogeneous embodiments adopt modular architectures with unified electrical and communication interfaces, lowering the hardware barrier for model cross-embodiment generalization.
