Hangzhou Nationalchip Technology Completes Hundreds of Millions of Yuan in Series C Funding
Focused on chip design and system solutions for digital television and AIoT (AI + IoT).
Hangzhou NationalChip Technology ("NationalChip") has officially announced it has raised several hundred million RMB in a Series C round. The round was led by CITIC Securities Investment, with Gaorong Ventures and others participating.

Founded in 2001, NationalChip has grown into one of the world's leading set-top box chip suppliers. Its digital set-top box chips are deployed globally, with cumulative shipments approaching 400 million units. In 2019 alone, NationalChip shipped over 30 million set-top box chips, capturing leading market share in multiple segments.
At the same time, NationalChip has built deep expertise in artificial intelligence and is a leading domestic AIoT chip provider. In 2017, it launched the industry's first IoT AI chip, the GX8010, which integrated NationalChip's self-developed neural network processor, the gxNPU, to accelerate neural network computation.
Released alongside the GX8010, the voice chip GX8008 was one of the industry's earliest AIoT chips to feature a "domestic CPU + domestic NPU" dual-processor architecture. It can be applied in smart home and in-vehicle intelligence scenarios, enabling intelligent voice front-end processing for devices with support for local wake-up and offline voice command recognition.
In 2020, NationalChip introduced the ultra-low-power AI chip GX8002, with power consumption as low as 70 microwatts — currently the lowest in the industry. It integrates the second-generation self-developed neural network processor gxNPU V200 and a proprietary hardware VAD module. Thanks to its ultra-low power consumption, the GX8002 can be widely used in TWS earbuds, watches, glasses, and other wearable devices.

Currently, NationalChip's AI business spans smart speakers, in-vehicle intelligence, smart home appliances, and wearables, covering the full "human-car-home" application scenario. With its low power consumption, high performance, and high integration, NationalChip's AI chips have won strong recognition from numerous top-tier algorithm and internet companies. To date, it has established deep partnerships with Alibaba, JD.com, Baidu, 360, Rokid, Mobvoi, iFlytek, SoundAI, AISpeech, Skyworth, TCL, Haier, and others.

This funding round will inject stronger momentum into NationalChip's R&D and innovation efforts. Drawing on years of accumulated experience and combined innovative strength, the company will gain broader room for expansion across industry scenarios. NationalChip CEO Huang Zhijie said: "With years of technical accumulation in audio and video, NationalChip is helping numerous partners build core competitiveness in AI by converging applications around 'AI + people, home, and vehicles.' In the new infrastructure era, NationalChip will continue to cultivate the chip sector and consistently deliver competitive solutions to the industry."
A Gaorong Ventures project lead commented: "Under the macro trend of intelligent IoT products, AI voice technology is seen as a major interaction gateway for smart scenarios, while cost-effective chips and modules are key to large-scale product deployment. NationalChip's design experience and innovation capabilities in AI chips give it a leading industry advantage. We look forward to NationalChip continuing to focus on human, home, and vehicle scenarios, providing advanced solutions for the industry and accelerating our journey toward a beautiful life of ubiquitous connectivity."
