Nuro Closes Over $200 Million Series E to Scale AI-First Autonomous Driving Technology
Make self-driving technology accessible to everyone.
On August 21, 2025, Nuro, a leader in autonomous driving technology, announced the completion of its $203 million Series E round. Investors in this round include Uber, existing backer Baillie Gifford, and new investors Icehouse Ventures, Kindred Ventures, NVIDIA, and Pledge Ventures.
This additional $97 million in funding follows the first tranche of $106 million announced in April 2025. The investors disclosed in April include T. Rowe Price, Fidelity Management & Research Company, Tiger Global, Greylock, and XN.

Gaorong Ventures led Nuro's first funding round and has continued to participate in subsequent rounds.
This financing marks a major milestone in Nuro's mission to bring autonomous driving technology to every road and every mobility scenario. The new capital will support the scaling of Nuro's AI-first autonomous driving technology and further expansion of its commercial partnerships.

Advanced Autonomous Driving System: Nuro Driver™
Nuro provides automakers and mobility service providers with its advanced autonomous driving system, Nuro Driver™, offering a clear and cost-effective path to integrating the company's mature technology into commercial fleets, ride-hailing services, and private vehicles.

Dave Ferguson, Nuro's co-founder and president, said: "The completion of our Series E underscores the strong confidence investors and strategic partners have in Nuro's technology, our scalable path to commercialization, and our vision for the future of autonomous driving. With this new funding, Nuro will focus on securing new commercial partnerships in this next phase of growth, accelerating the global deployment of autonomous driving technology."

Backed by Global Leaders in the Autonomous Driving Ecosystem
Building on years of technical collaboration, Nuro's partnership with NVIDIA has now expanded to include investment. Nuro's latest compute module is built on the NVIDIA DRIVE AGX Thor platform, with NVIDIA GPUs used in the cloud for large-scale data processing and model training. In June, Nuro joined the NVIDIA Halos AI system testing lab to validate the safe integration of its products.
In July, Nuro announced partnerships with Lucid and Uber to launch a next-generation global robotaxi service. The collaboration plans to deploy more than 20,000 Lucid vehicles equipped with Nuro Driver™ across dozens of markets worldwide in the coming years, with an initial launch in a major U.S. city planned for next year. As part of this partnership, Uber invested in Nuro (subject to certain R&D and commercial milestones), with a portion of this investment included in the Series E round.

After more than nine years of R&D and over five years of real-world deployment, Nuro remains one of the few companies to have successfully deployed autonomous vehicles at city scale without safety drivers.
