Committed to achieving sustained, rapid growth in qubit scale.

Recently, Huayi Quantum (Beijing) Technology Co., Ltd. ("Huayi Quantum") announced the completion of a Pre-A funding round exceeding RMB 100 million. The round was led by CCTV Integrated Media Fund, with participation from Baidu Venture, Lenovo Capital and Incubator Group, and 37 Interactive Entertainment. Gaorong Ventures had previously led Huayi Quantum's angel round in 2022.

This financing will accelerate the development of Huayi Quantum's new trapped-ion quantum computers, expand into new business scenarios, and explore quantum algorithm applications across additional industries.

Focused on Trapped-Ion Quantum Computing Continuously Breaking New Ground

Huayi Quantum is a high-tech company incubated by Tsinghua University's Quantum Information Center, born from the exceptional work of the quantum information research team at the Institute for Interdisciplinary Information Sciences, Tsinghua University. The company's founder is Academician Luming Duan, a member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and internationally renowned quantum information expert who also serves as Director of Tsinghua's Quantum Information Center, a Chair Professor of Basic Sciences, and a Yao Class Chair Professor. With deep academic foundations and forward-looking vision, his team has led Huayi Quantum to repeated breakthroughs in quantum computing. Chairman Dr. Lin Yao brings extensive research experience from both Tsinghua University and Brookhaven National Laboratory in the United States.

Huayi Quantum's core team comprises over ten PhDs and postdoctoral researchers from Tsinghua's Institute for Interdisciplinary Information Sciences, covering quantum mechanics, optics, vacuum technology, algorithms, and other specialized fields — providing powerful intellectual backing for the company's growth.

Huayi Quantum focuses on the trapped-ion quantum computing approach, using ytterbium, barium, or calcium ions confined in ultra-high-vacuum environments, with narrow-linewidth lasers precisely manipulating the ions' quantum states to achieve coherent control of ion qubits.

Thanks to the unique properties of ion qubits, Huayi Quantum offers long-coherence-time identical qubits, high-fidelity quantum manipulation, universal quantum logic gates, and high-quality scalable ion trapping systems, complemented by proprietary patented fast and efficient single-bit addressing systems.

Huayi Quantum's computing systems are characterized by standardization, modularity, automation, and refinement. The room-temperature ion quantum computing system employs blade-type ion traps (Blade Trap) with 5–7 pairs of controllable DC electrodes for axial control of long ion chains, facilitating the formation of uniformly arranged one-dimensional ion chains. Through specific design, it allows axial optical access with fast, efficient single-bit addressing capability. Its ultra-high vacuum (peak value <5e-12 Torr) enables stable trapping of one-dimensional ion chains with up to 92 qubits at room temperature.

The cryogenic ion quantum computing system operates at 3–6 Kelvin, using integrated ion traps that avoid relative displacement issues during cooling of segmented trap designs. With over 7 pairs of controllable DC electrodes, it achieves larger-scale ion crystal trapping than room-temperature systems. Its unique three-dimensional structure facilitates the formation of large-scale two-dimensional ion crystals, substantially increasing qubit count — with a 110-qubit cryogenic general-purpose ion quantum computer launching soon.

Through proprietary design, domestic supply chain support, and in-house manufacturing, Huayi Quantum's trapped-ion quantum computer system achieves component-level full-chain integration, delivering world-class performance with full autonomy and a completely domestic supply chain.

Committed to Sustained Rapid Growth in Qubit Scale

Huayi Quantum's founding team has achieved major breakthroughs in multiple key technologies for developing large-scale quantum computers, including repeatedly setting world records for the number of trapped ions — solidifying the company's leading international position. Huayi Quantum has successfully released its first-generation commercial trapped-ion quantum computer prototype, the HYQ-A37, with 37 qubits and performance metrics reaching world-class levels.

Looking ahead, the company plans to achieve sustained rapid growth in qubit scale based on its distinctive advanced architecture, with a product featuring over 1,000 qubits and leading performance indicators expected in 2025.
