Accelerating the development of multifunctional antibodies.

DotBio, a biopharmaceutical company dedicated to developing more effective therapies for patients through innovative antibody technology, recently announced the completion of a tens-of-millions-of-yuan Pre-A funding round. The round was led by Gaorong Ventures and Bling Capital.

The proceeds will fund preclinical studies, including animal efficacy studies and chemistry, manufacturing, and controls (CMC) research, to help validate the potential of therapeutic candidates for future clinical advancement. The funding will also accelerate the expansion and automation of DotBio's proprietary modular platform, DotBody, which is designed to screen intracellular and extracellular tumor immunology targets from thousands of multifunctional antibody prototypes to identify next-generation clinical candidates.

Next-Generation Antibody Technology for More Effective Tumor Immunotherapy

Founded in Singapore, DotBio is a highly innovative biopharmaceutical company that employs novel therapeutic approaches to achieve optimal efficacy: rapidly designing multifunctional antibody prototypes to identify multifunctional antibodies with synergistic activity, optimal structure, and unique mechanisms of action.

DotBio's approach leverages the modular DotBody technology platform, Colony Filtration (CoFi), High-Temperature Colony Filtration (Hot-CoFi), high-throughput miniaturized assays, and data analytics to produce unique therapeutic molecules targeting intracellular and extracellular disease factors.

As a platform company, DotBio is building a diverse portfolio of targeted DotBody modules and multiple preclinical assets in tumor immunology.

Accelerating a Pipeline of Multifunctional Antibody Programs

"We are pleased to have the support of leading life science investors in this Pre-A round, which enables us to accelerate the development of a pipeline of multifunctional antibodies to treat multiple cancers and improve patients' lives," said Dr. Ignacio Asial, CEO of DotBio. "We are making significant progress in developing intracellular antibody therapies, with relevant findings published in Nature Communications in 2022. This funding accelerates our journey toward revolutionizing intracellular tumor targeting. With collaborative programs expected to enter clinical trials in the near term, this will further de-risk humanized antibodies and support the development of more advanced therapeutic modalities."

A project lead at Gaorong Ventures commented, "DotBio's humanized nanobody technology platform is distinctive and differentiated, with the potential to transform the multifunctional antibody space. Their previous collaborations with Cstone Pharmaceuticals, Junshi Biosciences, and Allied Group have already demonstrated the company's value. Notably, the pipeline from DotBio's partnership with Junshi Biosciences has been submitted for IND approval. We look forward to witnessing the company's growth and pipeline acceleration in the future."
