Build a leading domestic "protein artisan" platform.

On July 20, YinJia (Shanghai) Biomedical Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "YinJia Bio") announced the completion of a Pre-A funding round worth tens of millions of RMB, led by Gaorong Ventures with follow-on investments from CDH VGC and Furong Investment. The proceeds will primarily be used to accelerate the development of YinJia Bio's proprietary protein optimization platform, recruit core technical talent, expand GMP manufacturing capacity, and build out single-cell multi-functional protein analysis capabilities.

Founded in November 2020, YinJia Bio earlier this year simultaneously established protein technology platform laboratories, diagnostic reagent R&D facilities, and GMP pilot production platforms across Shanghai, Suzhou, and Beijing, alongside building out its technical R&D, manufacturing, and operations management teams. Within just a few months, the company established a preliminary protein development platform and successfully developed multiple unique raw materials, including a recombinant trypsin (r-Trypsin) with high activity and stability rivaling Roche's product, and calcineurin (PP2B), a notoriously difficult protein to express. Other raw material products with strong market demand and high technical barriers are also nearing completion and will be brought to market soon. Over the past several months, YinJia Bio has also established a preliminary GMP-compliant quality management system, laying critical groundwork for the rapid commercialization and regulatory approval of innovative diagnostic products going forward.

YinJia Bio founder Dr. Yifei Wu is a veteran of the biomedical industry, having previously served as Vice President at WuXi AppTec, General Manager of Clinical Diagnostics and Reagents, and head of the Protein Science Platform. He received years of comprehensive training in product design and process development at Roche Diagnostics and Cook Pharmica in the United States. Since returning to China over a decade ago, he has accumulated extensive hands-on experience across pharmaceutical and diagnostic operations, management, and regulatory affairs through leading partnerships with over 80 top-tier domestic and international pharmaceutical companies, biotech firms, and hospitals at a leading CRO. Over his more than 20-year career, he has led or contributed to the R&D and production of over 150 highly challenging protein products, many of which remain industry gold standards for raw materials. Currently, YinJia Bio is beginning with building out a complete protein platform as the foundation, pursuing a gradual extension strategy centered on this core capability. In its early stages, the company is expanding its products and services across diagnostic reagent core protein raw materials, novel drug targets, early cancer protein biomarker diagnostic reagents, and companion diagnostics for innovative therapies — forming a closed-loop business model from underlying technology to innovative product development.

As YinJia Bio's protein platform technology matures and evolves, the company will leverage its professional, efficient diagnostic reagent development capabilities and robust quality management system to gradually enter the companion diagnostics market. It will also collaborate with top-tier research institutions, companies, and universities including Johns Hopkins University, driving rapid product commercialization through a dual-engine approach of in-licensing and independent development, to fulfill YinJia Bio's mission and original vision.

Regarding this funding round, Dr. Yifei Wu, founder of YinJia Bio, stated that the company will continue to solidly build and innovate around its protein platform as the core underlying technology, integrating cutting-edge interdisciplinary science and technology into its platform to create a leading domestic "protein craftsman" platform. The goal is to quickly translate and commercialize frontier biomedical technologies and processes into applications for core raw materials and innovative products, bringing good raw materials and products to market faster and more broadly to meet market demands. Recently, YinJia Bio signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with IsoPlexis. The two parties will collaborate to advance the IsoPlexis single-cell multi-omics functional proteomics analysis platform for real-time dynamic monitoring and analysis of patient response to tumor immunotherapy and cellular immunotherapy, including efficacy and toxicity early warning. IsoPlexis's proprietary IsoCode chip detection technology (SCBC) — the Isolight fully automated single-cell multi-functional protein analyzer — was awarded The Top Innovation of 2017 by The Scientist. A Gaorong Ventures project lead commented: "Over the past decade or so, human research on biological molecules has progressed from 'small' to 'large' and from 'genetics' to 'function,' following the thread of the central dogma. As cutting-edge exploration in fields such as advanced academic research, clinical IVD, and drug development has gradually moved into deeper waters in recent years, increasingly complex and novel demands are being placed on upstream protein raw materials. In YinJia Bio's team and in founder Dr. Yifei Wu, we sense a 'craftsman spirit' toward protein technology and quality. It is a pleasure to have crossed paths, and we look forward to continuing to support the company's journey ahead."
