Qinghe Technology Delivers First Batch of Color Photoresist: A Milestone for China's Display Supply Chain! --- Qinghe Technology (清荷科技) has completed mass production and delivery of its first batch of color photoresist, marking a significant breakthrough in a critical material long dominated by foreign suppliers in China's display industry. Color photoresist is an essential component in the manufacturing of LCD and OLED panels, used to create the red, green, and blue subpixels that produce full-color images. The material demands extremely high precision in color purity, photosensitivity, and stability — technical barriers that have historically left Chinese display makers dependent on imports from Japanese and Korean chemical companies. This domestic production milestone comes as China's flat-panel display industry, the world's largest by capacity, faces increasing pressure to secure local supply chains amid geopolitical tensions and supply volatility. Industry analysts note that while Chinese manufacturers have made rapid progress in display panel production itself, upstream materials — particularly high-purity photoresists, polarizers, and driver ICs — remain concentrated among a handful of foreign suppliers. Qinghe's achievement represents incremental but meaningful progress in closing this gap. The company has not disclosed specific customers or volume figures for this initial delivery.
Accelerating the domestic substitution of core materials in the display industry.
On April 29, Gaorong Ventures portfolio company Maoming Qinghe Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter "Qinghe Technology") held a ceremony in Maoming, Guangdong Province, to mark the first mass production delivery of its color photoresist. This milestone signals that Qinghe Technology's fully self-developed and self-produced photoresist products have officially entered large-scale development, adding another landmark achievement to China's push for supply chain independence in critical display materials.

Six Years of Independent R&D
Breaking Foreign Monopoly on Color Photoresist
At the delivery ceremony, Qinghe Technology Chairman Li Han said this mass production delivery represents a critical breakthrough from zero to one in the company's history. The R&D team spent six years on independent development, working day and night to overcome technical hurdles. This successful delivery translates the company's research into tangible results, validated by the market and customers, and proves the feasibility and professionalism of Qinghe Technology's technical capabilities.
Qinghe Technology focuses on color photoresist for LCD displays. Currently, China's market in this segment is heavily import-dependent — over 80% of color photoresist comes from overseas, with domestic products accounting for less than 20%. This mass production delivery demonstrates Qinghe Technology's solid manufacturing capabilities and injects confidence into the domestic supply of critical display materials. The company will use this as a new starting point to continue deepening core technologies, expand product applications, and work with upstream and downstream partners to advance the high-quality development of the display materials ecosystem.

Continuing to Strengthen Technical Advantages
Expanding into High-End Displays and Semiconductors
With mass production now underway, Qinghe Technology will gradually expand its market presence. Through three to five years of focused development, it aims to capture a mainstream share of the domestic color photoresist market, continue building domestic technical advantages, and support the localization of core materials in the display sector.
Qinghe Technology CTO Li Deshan said this delivery is only the beginning. The company will continue upgrading its products, expanding into high-end displays and semiconductor applications, and achieving full localization of all raw materials.

Earning Customer Recognition
Achieving Stable, Reliable Bulk Product Delivery
At the delivery ceremony, guests including Gao Xueshan, Vice Mayor of Maoming and Party Secretary of Dianbai District and High-Tech Zone; Ouyang Zhongcan, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences; Liang Xinqing, Executive Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of the China Optics and Optoelectronics Manufacturers Association Liquid Crystal Branch; and Xiao Hua, former Director of the Planning Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, were in attendance. Representatives from industry partners including BOE and HKC also joined to witness the first mass production delivery of Qinghe Technology's color photoresist.
Customer representative Huang Lei, Head of TV Materials Operations at BOE's Supply Chain, said BOE is committed to bringing clearer, more vivid visual experiences to global users — a goal that depends on stable and innovative upstream core materials, especially high-end photoresist. With deep independent technical expertise and forward-looking R&D investment, Qinghe Technology has achieved full mastery from formulation design and synthesis processes to mass production technology, and can now deliver stable, reliable products in volume. This achievement fills a critical gap in China's push for supply chain independence in core display materials.
Building on this breakthrough, BOE will deepen its strategic partnership with Qinghe Technology, conducting joint R&D on frontier technologies to enhance the domestic new display industry's independent innovation capabilities and core competitiveness.
