Leading full-color Micro-LED display technology, accelerating the maturation of consumer-grade AR devices.

Raysolve recently announced the completion of a Pre-A+ and Pre-A++ financing round totaling tens of millions of dollars, led by Inno-Chip and AAC Technologies respectively, with existing investor Gaorong Ventures continuing to increase its stake. The proceeds will accelerate R&D iteration of Raysolve's full-color Micro-LED micro-display chips, expand the team, and prepare for upcoming small-scale mass production. Gaorong Ventures led Raysolve's Pre-A round in 2021.

With the strategic investment and industrial resources from Inno-Chip and AAC Technologies in this round, Raysolve says the three parties will work together to leverage industrial synergies and provide the global market with an unprecedented Micro-LED solution, helping AR products enter an entirely new dimension.

Leading Full-Color Micro-LED Display Technology and Solutions, Driving Consumer AR Device Maturity

Founded in 2019, Raysolve is a high-tech company focused on Micro-LED micro-display CMOS chip architecture design, process technology, and monolithic full-color technology research. The company's core team comes from the Department of Electronic and Computer Engineering at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, with years of experience in cutting-edge optoelectronic chip design and manufacturing. Raysolve independently developed the world's first monolithic full-color QD Micro-LED micro-display chip, building globally leading full-color Micro-LED display technology and solutions. The company is committed to breaking through core bottlenecks in near-eye display technology and accelerating the maturation of consumer-grade AR devices.

As the metaverse concept continues to gain traction, AR glasses remain the indispensable terminal for the metaverse. The accelerated layout of numerous tech giants at home and abroad in the AR/XR space has also driven accelerated innovation across the supply chain, with smart products represented by AR glasses emerging continuously.

"Lightweight design, high brightness, full-color display, and long battery life are the inevitable requirements for AR glasses to reach consumers," said Dr. Yongzhang Zhuang, Raysolve's founder and CEO. "The technical route for optical display devices not only affects the overall display quality of AR glasses, but also directly impacts battery life, exterior design, and user experience."

For optical systems, "Micro-LED + optical waveguide" is considered the optimal combination currently available. While Micro-LED technology offers significant advantages, achieving full-color display and high-yield mass production remains one of the technical challenges the industry urgently needs to solve. The industry has attempted various full-color solutions, with the more common approach being Micro-LED display technology using three-color light combination. However, due to the large optical engine volume, high cost, and the need for precise alignment of three color Micro-LED micro-displays, future lightweight AR glasses need to find a more "slim" applicable solution.

Raysolve innovatively uses a quantum dot color conversion approach, reconstructing monolithic integration technology to achieve full-color display on a smaller chip package volume, facilitating further miniaturization of AR glasses; existing 8-inch wafer bonding technology enables high-yield mass production, and continuous technological iteration will allow for larger wafer processes in the future to reduce costs.

Raysolve's monolithic full-color Micro-LED micro-display chip will greatly simplify the optical module and even the entire display system, providing more optimization space for next-generation AR glasses and delivering the performance and exceptional experience users expect.

Leveraging Supply Chain Synergy, Driving Next-Generation Smart Platforms Through Breakthroughs in Foundational Technology

Dr. Yongzhang Zhuang stated, "The official deployment of global 5G has led to VR/AR, as a core 5G commercial scenario, being re-examined and taken seriously. We are delighted to see leading enterprises continuously driving the AR industry forward — this aligns perfectly with Raysolve's original aspiration of years of deep cultivation in the Micro-LED field."

For the AR industry, synergy across the upstream and downstream supply chain is equally important. Dr. Yongzhang Zhuang pointed out, "Raysolve is fortunate to receive strategic investment from Inno-Chip and AAC Technologies. Inno-Chip has received cornerstone investment and support from Will Semiconductor, a leading Chinese semiconductor company, and possesses strong market and investment positioning in the semiconductor field; AAC Technologies is one of the few manufacturers with the capability for large-scale production of high-precision micro-optical components for consumer applications, with extensive experience in large-scale custom optical components, scaling, and efficient operations, as well as specialized expertise in novel and highly complex wafer-level optical manufacturing processes. Raysolve will fully integrate its own advantages with those of its strategic investors to gain deeper understanding of future market demands, starting from breakthroughs in foundational technology to become a driving force in the development of next-generation smart platforms, welcoming the arrival of the inflection point for high-speed growth in the AR market."
