BlueRun Ventures Leads SiranBio's Nearly 400 Million Yuan Series A Financing to Accelerate siRNA Dual-Target and Extrahepatic Delivery Pipeline | BlueRun Ventures

Shi'an's Dual-Target Platform and Extracorporeal Liver Delivery System: A Dual-Wheel Innovation Engine

SiranBio (Suzhou Siran Biotechnology Co., Ltd., hereinafter "SiranBio") announced the completion of its Series A financing rounds, totaling nearly RMB 400 million across Pre-A, A, and A+ rounds. The Pre-A round was led by BlueRun Ventures; the A round saw BlueRun Ventures make an additional oversubscribed investment.

Combined with equity financing and already realized payments under out-licensing partnerships, the company has accumulated nearly RMB 1 billion in R&D funding, providing a solid capital foundation for the development of siRNA dual-target and extrahepatic delivery pipelines targeting fat, muscle, cardiac muscle, kidney, and other tissues.

BlueRun Ventures has consistently focused on differentiated frontier biotech platforms. We led two consecutive rounds in SiranBio in 2024 and 2025, establishing close ties with the company early in its founding and continuously witnessing its team's progress in platform development and pipeline advancement.

SiranBio has now built a nucleic acid drug technology platform system with independent intellectual property and global competitiveness. It has advanced SA1211, the world's first single-molecule dual-target siRNA candidate, into clinical development. Meanwhile, SA030, an ALK7 siRNA candidate developed based on the STORK-F fat delivery platform, has become one of the top three globally to enter clinical development for this target and has established close partnerships with multinational corporations. BlueRun congratulates SiranBio on its differentiated platform capabilities and pipeline value receiving continued recognition from investors. We look forward to SiranBio continuing to deliver differentiated pipelines and achieving outstanding results in the clinical stage.

Founded in 2022 in Suzhou Industrial Park, SiranBio is a leading domestic company focused on innovative siRNA drug R&D. Its founding team hails from top institutions including Peking University, Tsinghua University, Harvard University, Columbia University, and the University of Freiburg, with over two decades of accumulated experience in nucleic acid drug development. Team members bring industry experience from Merck Group, Life Technologies, Hengrui Medicine, and leading domestic small nucleic acid companies, and have built complete small nucleic acid drug R&D platforms from scratch multiple times. They have participated in and led the development of more than 10 siRNA pipelines that have entered clinical stages, and have completed multiple domestic and international BD partnership and licensing deals for technology platforms and candidate pipelines. The team has achieved multiple breakthroughs in LNP delivery, liver-targeted delivery, and extrahepatic delivery. Founder Dr. Zhiwei Yang is the core inventor of the Lipofectamine™ reagent series and was awarded Life Technologies' highest invention achievement award. This product is a globally classic LNP transfection tool widely used for DNA and RNA cell transfection and in vivo delivery. Its lipid chemistry foundation provides important technical reference for therapeutic nucleic acid drug delivery systems, with related patents licensed to multiple pharmaceutical companies.

SiranBio has established a core technology system with fully independent intellectual property, including the eSAFE chemical modification technology, STORK-W single-molecule dual-target platform, and STORK intra- and extra-hepatic targeted delivery platform. It has pioneered a differentiated R&D paradigm of "dual-target innovation + extrahepatic delivery" for siRNA, with pipelines comprehensively covering antiviral, metabolic diseases, and other high-potential therapeutic areas.

SA1211: The world's first single-molecule dual-target siRNA to enter clinical trials, targeting functional cure for hepatitis B

The company's globally first-in-class single-molecule dual-target siRNA drug SA1211 targets functional cure for chronic hepatitis B. Through a triple-action mechanism, it is expected to achieve comprehensive efficacy in suppressing HBV replication, reducing hepatitis B surface antigen, and restoring damaged immune function. This drug is the world's first single-molecule dual-target siRNA product to enter clinical trials. Its excellent preclinical data has been recognized by authoritative international hepatology conferences, breaking through the limitations of traditional hepatitis B treatment. Phase 1b dose exploration and efficacy validation trials are currently progressing steadily, with expected entry into Phase II clinical trials in early 2027.

SA030: China's first systemically administered extrahepatic delivery siRNA, and one of the top three globally to enter clinical-stage fat delivery siRNA

SA030 leverages the STORK-F fat-targeted delivery platform. It is the first siRNA candidate molecule in China to achieve extrahepatic fat targeting through systemic administration and advance to clinical trials, opening a new technical path for metabolic diseases and partnering with GSK to accelerate global development.

Building on its established technical foundation, the company will continue to lead the development of small nucleic acid extrahepatic delivery technology, not only achieving mature clinical-grade delivery capabilities in adipose tissue, but also making key technical breakthroughs in extrahepatic dual-target and muscle-targeted delivery. Meanwhile, pipeline expansion continues to extend toward more challenging extrahepatic tissues including cardiac muscle, kidney, and ophthalmology, constantly pushing the therapeutic boundaries of siRNA drugs.

Dr. Zhiwei Yang, founder and chairman of SiranBio, stated: "We thank new and existing investors for their continued trust in SiranBio. The successful completion of this series of financing rounds represents recognition of SiranBio's globally leading small nucleic acid dual-target and extrahepatic delivery technologies, as well as our R&D pipeline. The recent financing and multiple BD partnerships have significantly enhanced the company's capital reserves. We will accelerate the clinical development of core pipelines including SA1211 and SA030, enabling SiranBio's innovative technologies to benefit hepatitis B and obesity patients more quickly. At the same time, we will accelerate the development of more innovative technologies, driving more siRNA drugs with FIC/BIC potential into clinical research, and enabling more 'Made in China' small nucleic acid drugs to reach global markets faster."
