Shenzhen Recruiting: Grab a Seat at the Table and Help Define New AI × Hardware Species | Booming Hub

On September 18, Booming Hub returns to Shenzhen. This time, we want to ask: before the next product is defined, who should be sitting at the table together? The question comes from changes BlueRun Ventures has been seeing on the front lines of early-stage investing. Founded in 2008, BlueRun Ventures is one of China's largest early-stage funds and one of the most active investors in AI today. BlueRun has long searched across AI, hard tech, consumer tech, and biotech for founders who start running amid uncertainty and redefine products and opportunities — it has backed 200 startups at the early stage and stayed with them for the long haul. From Moonshot AI and Genspark in models and applications, to AI hardware and smart device companies like VITURE, Haivivi, Shen Tingji, Violoop, Pongbot, Nestworks, Keyi Tech, Weiguang Diandeng, and Sweetmyo, we've seen that as AI enters the real world, new product opportunities increasingly emerge at the intersection of model capability, user demand, engineering execution, and supply chains.

AI hardware that actually works can rarely be defined by any single link in the chain alone. We don't want to wait until the models are ready and then go looking for hardware to carry them, nor do we want to wait until a hardware product is finalized before embedding AI into it. So this time, we want to bring together people from both the AI and hardware sides — people who have actually built products — to start from real needs, judge what's most worth validating next, and find connections and collaborations worth pursuing.

No vague trend talk — we put real questions on the table

This time, we're giving more of the time to the participants. The room will break into tables organized around different product directions, exchanging judgments based on real questions and hands-on experience.

Here's what you can expect from the evening:

  • An early-stage perspective from the funds: BlueRun Ventures and DCG Foundry will share what's changing in AI×hardware from the vantage point of early-stage investing and project observation, along with their read on new opportunities and new questions.
  • Table discussions with practitioners from both software and hardware: People working in models, product, design, engineering, manufacturing, and supply chains will sit together around different product directions, trading the experience and judgment they've formed on the front lines.
  • Dissecting real problems together: Around the product directions participants are exploring or pushing forward, we'll discuss whether demand is real, what new experiences AI can unlock, and which practical challenges still stand between a product and its launch.
  • Take away next-step judgments and connections: Each table will distill the key judgments, real needs, and potential collaboration opportunities that emerge from the discussion. There will also be open networking time, so the conversations worth continuing can happen naturally.

Who are we inviting?

For this Shenzhen edition of Booming Hub, we're looking for hands-on practitioners from both sides of AI and hardware:

  • AI side: People who have actually built models, algorithms, agents, multimodal interaction, AI products, or software engineering
  • Hardware side: People who have done product definition, industrial design, engineering development, NPI, mass production, supply chain, or global delivery

The event will focus on the following product directions:

  • Smart wearables;
  • Health and sports tech;
  • Innovative imaging;
  • Interactive entertainment devices;
  • Maker

We also welcome practitioners exploring new product forms that haven't yet been defined and don't fit into existing categories. You don't need to have founded a company yet, or even have a fully formed project. But maybe you've thought more than once —

If I were the one defining a product, would it turn out differently?

If you want to turn your existing capabilities into a real product, push the judgment in your head toward its next round of validation, or even find partners to go from 0 to 1 with —

bring your strengths, the resources you need, and the topics you want to discuss, and apply to join this Booming Hub.

💡 Booming Hub

"Buming Booming" is a founder ecosystem brand launched by BlueRun Ventures in 2023, dedicated to helping founders grow from Buming ("not yet sounding") to Booming.

In a local area network, a "hub" amplifies every digital signal it receives and transmits it to every connected node.

In our view, every founder's idea is a precious signal waiting to be amplified, translated, and connected. That's why we built Booming Hub as the gathering place for BlueRun and everyone in tech and venture. From Shenzhen to Hong Kong, Silicon Valley, and Tokyo, we break through cultural and geographic boundaries, letting countless ideas about technology converge freely here and spark new inspiration.

💡 DCG Foundry is an investment firm focused on early-stage smart hardware. Before a company takes shape, DCG looks for founders worth betting on for the long term, and acts as an "exoskeleton" in a founder's early stage — helping put the key variables of people, product, technology, supply chain, organization, market, capital, and timing in the right place, so real potential takes structure earlier and becomes more likely to happen. Design the Conditions for Greatness.

💡 Google for Startups Early-stage startups that join the Google for Startups Cloud Program can receive up to $350,000 in cloud credits; startups at Series B and beyond can access tailored support services and solutions to continue scaling. Nearly all AI unicorn companies are Google Cloud customers, using its industry-leading AI infrastructure, platforms, models, agents, and data to power their businesses.
