Linear Capital's 2025 Investor Conference Successfully Held in Beijing | Linear News
To be or not to be, in the AI-dominated future.

Today, Linear Capital's 2025 Annual General Meeting concluded successfully in Beijing, bringing together over 150 top-tier LPs and founders from Linear's portfolio companies around the world to explore the existential question: "To be or not to be, in the AI dominated future."
With more than a decade of deep engagement in frontier technology, Linear will continue to actively collaborate with partners who share its vision and ambition, contributing to the advancement of early-stage tech investing. At the same time, it will strengthen exchanges with capital and enterprises across different countries and regions — rooted in China, while seeking quality investment opportunities globally.
On November 6-7, Linear Capital held its 2025 Annual General Meeting in Beijing. Over 150 leading LPs and founding teams from Linear's portfolio gathered to review and look ahead at the opportunities and challenges reshaped by frontier technologies represented by AI.
This year's AGM took a Shakespearean classic as its theme: "To be or not to be, in the AI dominated future." This philosophically charged theme precisely captured the deepest anxieties and reflections of every entrepreneur and investor in the current era.
The AGM opened with a special fireside chat between Harry Wang, Founder and CEO of Linear Capital, and Kai Yu, Founder and CEO of Horizon Robotics. On the very day of last year's Linear annual meeting, Horizon Robotics rang the bell for its listing on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. As Horizon's earliest institutional investor, Harry Wang and Linear Capital witnessed its journey from zero to becoming a tech enterprise valued at over 100 billion RMB.
Yu emphasized that entrepreneurs need the spirit to keep going with eyes wide open. Often, entrepreneurs have no choice but to be blindly optimistic — believing that no matter how great the difficulty, it will pass by tonight, and the fight continues tomorrow. At the same time, one must learn to forget, focusing only on the present and the future.

The other fireside conversation featured Rory Sexton from the board of Agile Robots. Before joining Agile Robots, Rory was an executive at Apple, having joined in 2001 when the company was in dire straits. He was responsible for Apple's strategic planning and helped build its 5,000-person supply chain management team in China.
Rory shared his journey from Apple to Agile Robots, discussing the company's current competitive advantages, supply chain distinctive features, and other硬核 management insights. He also praised Agile Robots Founder and CEO Zhaopeng Chen as "interesting and authentic, able to stay calm under pressure and make wise decisions, and skilled at listening to employees."

This year's Linear AGM also featured three thematic forums.
At the AI for Science (AI4S) forum, Linear Capital Partner Yingzhe Zeng engaged in dialogue with Dr. Xiaole Liu, Founder of GV20, Zhen Zhou, Founder of Yinghua Chenrui, and Chenru Duan, Co-founder and CTO of Deep Principle. Zeng noted that scientific discovery today is like the Age of Exploration — AI has brought entirely new tools to research, transforming it from a trial-and-error or hypothesis-driven process into a data-driven modern industrial system, ushering in the era of AI for science. It can discover new drugs, create new materials, and understand the fundamental laws of the universe at superhuman speed and intelligence in the microscopic world — an important force in creating new worlds. The three guests discussed the core moats of their respective sub-fields, China's competitive advantages, and offered projections for future breakthroughs.

At the AI Consumer Hardware forum, Linear Capital Partner Jun Yang spoke with Xiaodu Lou, Founder of Femometer, Jiawei Gu, Founder of Ling Universe, and Lijun Xue, Founder of Ludens AI. Yang mentioned that Linear began investing in smart consumer hardware ten years ago, with portfolio companies including Rokid and Lightin among other quality hardware projects. When this new wave of AI technology combines with hardware, it can affect the physical world and enter millions of households. The three guests from different tracks shared their product thinking and the unique experiences AI brings, discussing opportunities in new categories, founder traits, and the advantages of China's entrepreneurial soil.

At the AI Software and Applications forum, Linear Capital Managing Director Can Zheng joined Minghao Guan, Founder of Final Round AI, Kaijie Chen, Founder of Macaron AI, and Yifeng Yin, Founder of Yumfit, to explore the new paradigms and possibilities of Agentic AI. The three founders shared their respective businesses, discussing factors driving Agent development changes, application experiences, team building, and future outlook, offering multi-dimensional perspectives on the evolution of Agentic AI.

At the closing of the conference, Linear Capital Founder and CEO Harry Wang delivered his annual address on the theme "To be or not to be, in the AI dominated future." As an engineer, Harry has witnessed the continuous breakthroughs in AI capabilities since GPT-3.5's release. While the parallel training approach based on transformers did not exceed his imagination of engineering capabilities, the mysterious emergence of intelligence it produced — and the resulting AI revolution — far exceeded expectations.
He argued that the demonstration of AI capability lies not just in speed, but in acceleration. Harry believes AI will achieve dominance within the next one to three decades. By 2030, approximately 30% of human work will be displaced; by 2040, this figure will reach 70%; and by 2050, human work may be completely displaced. Even these projections may prove conservative.

Therefore, as the AI-dominated future approaches, passive waiting means elimination. Only by actively participating in shaping the future can one ensure their own "existence" in this new era. In this era of great transformation, "To be" is not a passive state, but an active choice — choosing to embrace change, choosing to participate in creation, choosing to become an indispensable part of the AI-dominated future.
At the event, portfolio companies including Agile Robots, Tezign, RIVR, Yiru, Notta, Guandata, Yrobot, Lightin, and Yinghua Chenrui also showcased their products to attendees.
