Principal, Senior Principal — Biotech, Materials, Broad Hard Tech
Requirements:
- Strong technical background from a reputable domestic or international university. Interest in early-stage investing, with a focus on one of the following areas:
- Biotech (biochemistry, biophysics, or interdisciplinary PhDs preferred)
- Broad hard tech, new energy, and new materials (solar, chemicals, CCUS, hydrogen, lasers, silicon photonics — education or work experience in these fields preferred)
- Insatiable curiosity and logical thinking. Ask when you don't understand; ask again if you still don't. Fast learner, self-driven
- Keen observational skills and sharp instincts. Strong research and data analysis capabilities
- Deep curiosity and ability to dig into frontier technologies like next-generation robotics, as well as breakthroughs in traditional disciplines (new energy, new materials, biocomputing, etc.)
- Grit, stamina, long-term orientation, and comfort with delayed gratification
- Punctual
- Communicative
- Speak up, follow through, deliver results
- Willing to make mistakes, own them, correct them, and learn from them
Nice to have:
- Prior investing experience not required, but experience in tech startup investing is a plus
- R&D or PM background at a leading tech company
- Track record of successful projects in a mature company's business unit
- Entrepreneurship or consulting experience
- PhD in broad hard tech
