Yuan Computing's Wu Jianming: "Localization, Scenario-Based Deployment, Cloud-Native" — Industrial Simulation's New Approach to Powering China's Intelligent Manufacturing
Today, digital technologies centered on industrial software have become the foundation of intelligent manufacturing. Among them, Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) — a category of R&D and design software — is increasingly emerging as a focal point for accelerating the digital transformation and upgrading of manufacturing, and for achieving intelligent manufacturing. Without the support of industrial simulation software, high-end industries such as automotive, aviation, aerospace, nuclear power, high-speed rail, and electronics would struggle to achieve high-quality development.
Today, digital technologies centered on industrial software have become the foundation of intelligent manufacturing. Among them, industrial simulation software (CAE), a category of R&D design software, is increasingly becoming the focal point for driving digital transformation and upgrading in manufacturing and achieving intelligent manufacturing. Without the support of industrial simulation software, high-end industries such as automotive, aviation, aerospace, nuclear power, high-speed rail, and electronics would struggle to achieve high-quality development.
Currently, the domestic industrial simulation software market is dominated by Western companies including ANSYS, Dassault Systèmes, Altair, MSC, and Siemens. Against the backdrop of unstable China-U.S. relations, enterprises face risks of supply disruptions and "chokepoint" restrictions on industrial simulation software. Meanwhile, most industrial simulation software is "tool-type" software with limited integration with industry standards and poor alignment with domestic industry needs, placing high demands on operators' knowledge and experience and creating a significant talent gap in Chinese enterprises' digital transformation. Additionally, due to licensing restrictions on "on-premise" versions of industrial simulation software, enterprises' investments in hardware and software continue to climb. In summary, current industrial simulation software is well-suited to the centralized R&D models of Fortune 500 companies but difficult to popularize among China's widely distributed industrial enterprises, especially private small and medium manufacturing enterprises.

YuanSuan has seized this development opportunity, deeply engaging with industries in response to domestic market demand. Through its innovative model of localized, scenario-based, and cloud-based industrial simulation, it contributes to enhancing enterprises' independent innovation capabilities, realizing digital transformation in Chinese manufacturing, and promoting the vigorous development of intelligent manufacturing.
Localization: Empowering Industry-Independent Simulation Capabilities
In 2020, YuanSuan reached comprehensive strategic and technical cooperation with Électricité de France (EDF), the world's largest nuclear power operator. Combining EDF's industrial experience with open-source industrial simulation software, YuanSuan absorbed and deeply developed applications to build an industrial-grade domestic simulation software — the Gewu CAE Intelligent Collaborative Simulation Platform. This product was selected for the 2021 Zhejiang Province First-Edition Software Product Application and Promotion Guide Catalog.
Over the years, YuanSuan's technology development and engineering service teams have been dedicated to creating complete domestic alternative solutions for industrial simulation software tailored to domestic high-end manufacturing enterprises, helping them gradually escape the chokepoint risks of commercial simulation software. For example, YuanSuan has conducted extensive advanced and complex customized development based on the business scenarios of large central state-owned enterprises in energy, water conservancy, aviation, and aerospace, assisting them in establishing code-controllable simulation capability systems and achieving localization of enterprise professional design software.
Scenario-Based: Meeting Actual Industry Simulation Needs
YuanSuan, in combination with nuclear power design standards, partnered with the China Nuclear Energy Industry Association to host the "RCC-M Pressurized Water Reactor Nuclear Island Mechanical Equipment Design and Construction Rules Training," and organized the AFCEN (Association Française pour les règles de Conception et de Construction des matériels des Chaudières Electro-Nucléaires) Environmental Fatigue and Nonlinear Benchmark Conference for domestic nuclear power groups. It developed a customized industry-grade dedicated simulation software system covering the complete simulation process, standardizing simulation processes to achieve standardized nuclear power design workflows, meeting integrity analysis engineering requirements while lowering the barrier to using industrial software.

Furthermore, starting from actual application scenarios in water conservancy, emergency management, energy, and other industries, YuanSuan has developed a series of digital twin solutions, including a dam health management digital twin platform, an urban waterlogging early warning digital twin platform, and a watershed flood risk management digital twin platform. Among these, the dam health management platform was successively selected for the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's 2021 Industrial Internet APP Excellent Solutions List and the Ministry of Water Resources' 2022 Key Promotion Guide Catalog of Advanced and Practical Water Conservancy Technologies, providing systematic, complete, and precise full-lifecycle digital management solutions for core industrial equipment and facilities in water conservancy, energy, and other industries.

Cloud-Based: Enabling Multi-Site Collaborative R&D Innovation
YuanSuan independently developed a lightweight, convenient, elastic, and easy-to-use integrated CAE industrial simulation cloud platform by combining advanced technologies including HPC supercomputing, cloud computing, and CAE industrial simulation. The platform modularly deploys general industrial simulation software on the cloud, enhancing the cloud-based collaborative capabilities of numerous industrial simulation software. At the same time, based on the massive computing resources of national supercomputing centers, it achieves agile and elastic cloud computing resource pools, eliminating the need for cumbersome tasks such as building clusters, deploying software, and scheduling operations and maintenance. This lowers the simulation operation threshold for SMEs, reduces hardware and software procurement and deployment costs, and helps industrial enterprises achieve remote collaborative R&D simulation, improving enterprise R&D design efficiency.

Through its new approach of localization, scenario-based applications, and cloud deployment of industrial simulation software, YuanSuan has opened the path to productization and commercialization of domestic industrial software. Going forward, YuanSuan will continue to deeply engage with industries, using the localization, scenario-based, and cloud-based models as fertile ground to build industry digital ecosystem communities, support continuous innovation and technological progress in domestic manufacturing, and contribute to the development of intelligent industrial manufacturing.
