Linear Capital Portfolio Company | SynMetabio Signs Exclusive Strategic Partnership with Dole

On November 6, 2023, at the sixth China International Import Expo, Dole and SynMetabio — a Linear Capital portfolio company — formally signed a significant exclusive strategic partnership agreement, marking the beginning of their collaboration.

Dole's Shanghai facility produces roughly 900 metric tons annually of cosmetically imperfect fruit — surface blemishes, bruising, or otherwise unmarketable produce — which will now be supplied to SynMetabio for secondary use.

SynMetabio will combine Dole's discarded fruit with mushroom mycelium, cultivating and fermenting the mixture to produce Mycel, a 100% bio-based fruit mycelium leather, further reducing the environmental burden on the planet.
