Last week, Linear Capital celebrated its 11th anniversary. As our assets under management and portfolio have continued to grow, we've found ourselves asking: As an early-stage investor in frontier technology, how should we communicate Linear's identity and character to a broader audience?

Two months ago, we kicked off the creation of an all-new Linear website. At the very start, Harry had only one requirement — "Reject anything conventional." The result: a new site built on a geek-chic dark aesthetic, threaded with sci-fi-inspired flowing light elements.

This redesign is, in many ways, a tangible expression of Linear's inner spirit — our focus on and pursuit of technological innovation. What looks like a simple website refresh is, in essence, a new articulation of our investment philosophy. We hope you like it.

You'd be hard-pressed to find another VC whose website was built line-by-line by its founder. When Linear was first starting out, Harry (Harry Wang, Linear's founder and CEO) hand-coded Linear Capital's very first website. Later, other team members took the baton and built the second version. Neither may have been perfect, or as "standardized" as typical corporate sites, but both represented the insistence of technically grounded investors on having a distinctive style.

As Linear's AUM and portfolio have continued to expand, we've kept asking ourselves how to convey our identity and character to more people. So this year, we launched the design and creation of our third-generation website.

"Reject anything conventional" — this was our sole guiding principle for the design.

We wanted this to be more than a website: a "dynamic love letter" to the grand era of technology entrepreneurship. We hope that everyone who sees it will get a sense of Linear's sensibility from its design language and details, and learn more about us and the companies we back.

In overall direction, we abandoned the solemn tone of traditional institutional websites, opting instead for a geek-chic dark palette, sci-fi-infused flowing light elements, and cutting-edge interactions that prioritize experience — creating an online home that feels authentically "Linear."

The gradient beam on the landing page symbolizes the light of technology — the accumulation may be slow, but it can illuminate a new era in an instant. The slogan at its core is both our hope for founders and our promise to all our supporting partners: "Let's explore all nonlinear growth possibilities on a linear path."

This philosophy permeates the entire site. Within Linear's vertical scroll interaction, flickering pixels and arcs of flowing light thread through the background — the interplay of light and motion in the interface is a metaphor for data flowing like light, with intelligence everywhere.

Scrolling down the homepage, the page gradually sinks into dark mode, making Linear's fundamentals clearer — founded in 2014, 14+ billion RMB in AUM, 170+ portfolio companies, aggregate portfolio valuation of 200+ billion RMB. This philosophy of light-to-dark gradation also represents our investment attitude: deep roots in technology fundamentals, calm and discerning.

Further down, we give the spotlight to what we value most: our portfolio companies. Staying forever focused on investing — this is the Linear team's shared conviction. Over the past 11 years, we were the earliest angel investors in Horizon Robotics, Agile Robots, Manycore Tech, Rokid, and Tezign. Going forward, we hope that by giving technical founders the most solid support possible, one day we'll take even greater pride in more of them.

In the "ABOUT" section, we use modular storytelling to deconstruct Linear's specific investment philosophy, focus areas, check sizes, and post-investment support — like unpacking code.

In the "TEAM" section, we present complete profiles of every member of Linear's investment and operations teams. Our investment team combines deep technical backgrounds with frontline industry experience, with sharp insight into both technology trends and commercial value. Our operations team provides consultative support across finance, legal, marketing, communications, and HR — together, helping companies grow.

In the "PORTFOLIO" section, we've selected a subset of Linear's portfolio companies for focused presentation. Notably, if you look closely at our initial investment years, you'll find that we were the first-round investor for the vast majority of them. We strive to find startups that excel at applying frontier technology to real-world problems, at the earliest possible stage. While others chase trends, we deconstruct algorithms; while others hype business models, we choose to read the code.
