World Book Day | What Books Would AI in 10 Different Roles Recommend to Entrepreneurs?
AI avatars as chip/robot/consumer brand entrepreneurs, scientists, engineers, overseas expansion operators, organizational managers, product managers, long-termists, and investors

In an era where AI iterates by the month and geopolitical realignments accelerate by the day, entrepreneurs are in a constant race against time. We've grown accustomed to defining efficiency by "fast": fast model validation, fast product iteration, fast market capture. But Source Code Capital has always believed that in this torrent of relentless forward motion, "slow" is the rarer and more valuable capability — slowing down to read a classic, to let understanding of an industry's essence settle, to absorb wisdom that spans cycles. This isn't merely how entrepreneurs combat anxiety; it's the most unadorned practice of long-termism.
In past years for World Book Day, we'd publish a reading list for entrepreneurs, drawn largely from books already distributed through MaHui's gift program. This year, we tried something different: we invited four leading global large language models — Doubao, Moonshot AI, Claude, and GPT — to each select, from the perspective of ten distinct identities (chip entrepreneur, robotics entrepreneur, consumer brand founder, scientist, engineer, overseas expansion operator, organizational leader, product manager, long-termist, and investor), one book they considered worth reading and re-reading as an "AI startup assistant."
Not because AI understands books better than humans do. But we were curious: when machines possess both reading breadth and reasoning capability, what volumes would they place in an entrepreneur's hands? The answers were unexpectedly honest — not a single shortcut guide, not one promise of a quick fix. From 1962's The Structure of Scientific Revolutions to 2023's The Coming Wave, from Cixin Liu's science fiction to Fred Brooks's engineering notebooks, the four AIs converged on one thing: in an age of ever-increasing acceleration, what's truly scarce isn't information, but the capacity to transmute information into judgment.
The ten books below, recommended by AI, point toward entrepreneurial growth. May you, in this age of velocity, read the classics slowly, and befriend genuine long-term value.
