Starna Therapeutics, a company focused on mRNA-based drug development, recently announced the completion of a RMB 150 million Series A financing round. The round was led by LYFE Capital, with Source Code Capital, HONY Capital, and Primavera Venture Partners participating as co-investors. Existing shareholders Hillhouse and Sherpa Healthcare Partners continued to increase their stakes. This marks the company's second new financing round within a year, following its angel round strategic financing in December 2021. The proceeds will be used to expand its R&D center, build a pilot production facility, advance its pipeline, and further refine extrahepatic delivery technology to broaden the application prospects of mRNA drugs.
Founded in August 2021, Starna Therapeutics was established by talent with extensive industry experience in delivery technology and nucleic acid therapeutics, both domestically and internationally. The company has built proprietary mRNA design, synthesis, and LNP delivery technology platforms, enabling tissue-specific mRNA drug delivery. Guided by unmet clinical needs, Starna develops internationally competitive mRNA innovative drugs.
