Yi Cao Named to 2017 China Top Venture Capitalists TOP50

November 21, 2017, Beijing — Jiemian and Toutiao jointly released the inaugural "China Top Venture Capitalists" list, featuring 50 top-tier investors including Yi Cao, founding partner of Source Code Capital.

This survey aims to identify the top venture capitalists who best seize opportunities amid China's shifting economic landscape, demonstrate the most profound judgment and leadership in innovative industries, and provide the greatest support and lasting impact to entrepreneurs. To reflect the latest developments, special attention was paid to investors' track records over the preceding three years, including both new investments and exits during that period, in order to surface the freshest, most active, and most newly prominent forces in the venture capital community.

Topping the list was Neil Shen, founding and managing partner of HSG. Lei Zhang, founder of Hillhouse, ranked second, followed by Hugo Shong, global chairman of IDG Capital, in third place. Kathy Xu, founding partner of Capital Today; Allen Zhu, managing director of GSR Ventures; Kai-Fu Lee, founder of Sinovation Ventures; Quan Zhou, partner at IDG Capital; Jixun Foo, managing partner at GGV Capital; David Zhang, founding managing partner of Matrix Partners China; and Bob Xu, founder of ZhenFund, rounded out the top ten in fourth through tenth place respectively. Also recognized for their outstanding performance were Qin Liu, founding partner of 5Y Capital; independent investor Gang Wang; Yahui Zhou, chairman of Kunlun Tech; Yi Cao, founding partner of Source Code Capital; and Joan Wang, partner at SIG Asia Investments.
