MaHui | Desktop CNC Firm ToolDance Closes Pre-A Round, Source Code Capital Continues to Double Down

Source Code Capital was the sole seed-round investor and later led the angel round.

Just over a year since its founding, the company has now closed three consecutive funding rounds. MaHui member and desktop CNC startup ToolDance (涌泉创新) recently announced the completion of its Pre-A round, bringing its total raised to several hundred million RMB.

The round was led by F&G Capital, with participation from Yaotu Capital, Eminence Ventures, YuanSheng Ventures, and other institutional investors. Strategic investors included Look Capital (a family office for tech founders) and Jiadao Capital (the family office of Gong Hongjia). Source Code Capital, an existing shareholder, continued to increase its stake.

Notably, Source Code Capital was the sole investor in ToolDance's seed round and also led its subsequent angel round.

ToolDance's current shareholder base spans precision manufacturing and hardtech investing, semiconductor and supply chain resources, consumer tech and global brand-building experience, and internet and AI ecosystems. This mix aligns closely with what a desktop CNC company needs to move from prototype to mass delivery: on one end, difficult core technologies and components; on the other, supply chain ramp-up, consumer-grade product definition, and overseas market expansion. The combined entry of industrial resources and specialized capital will provide long-term support for the mass production of its first-generation product and the platformization of future product lines.

First Product, ToolDance X1, Planned for Global Launch This Year

ToolDance's debut product, the ToolDance X1, is scheduled for global release this year. As the company's first offering, the X1 targets mainstream users with a reliable, high-performance, highly intelligent productivity tool, further extending its use cases through expandable accessories such as a five-axis module. At the same time, the company will continue building technical moats through fully self-developed core components, intelligent CAM, and other key technologies, accelerating the adoption and real-world deployment of desktop digital fabrication tools.

The ToolDance X1 is a digital fabrication tool that bridges professional-grade performance with consumer-grade experience: on one hand, it serves as a reliable professional productivity tool, bringing factory-level machining capabilities and cost efficiency to a broader range of professional and semi-professional manufacturing scenarios; on the other, it addresses the growing creative demands of consumer users, lowering the barrier from idea to finished product and giving full rein to consumers' expanding desire to create.

Funding to Accelerate R&D and Market Expansion

This round will primarily fund difficult technology R&D, mass production and delivery of the first product, supply chain system development, and global market expansion. ToolDance founder Allan Wang said: "This isn't just technology trickling down — it's the liberation of creativity. This funding round will accelerate the realization of that vision, allowing everyone to cross from idea to finished product with a lower barrier to entry."

ToolDance is returning the "right to manufacture" from professional factories to individual creators. The ToolDance X1 packs a 1500W high-performance spindle, 9-position automatic tool changer, and self-developed AutoCAM onto a single desktop, enabling users to shape materials of varying properties freely according to their creative vision — without needing to master complex CNC programming or intricate numerical control knowledge. It turns designs in your mind into tangible works within reach, making every desktop a fabrication workshop and every spark of inspiration into reality.
