Code Brain | 20 Money Rules Every Entrepreneur Must Remember

"Money" remains the element startups care about most — it determines whether they survive today and whether they can grow tomorrow.

"Money" remains the most critical factor for startups — it determines survival today and growth tomorrow.

In mid-December, the "Code Brain 2025 Annual Masterclass" convened in Hangzhou, with its focus once again on "money." This marks the fourth consecutive year that Source Code Capital has organized financial training for its portfolio companies since 2022, drawing over 340 participants in total.

Over the course of one day, veteran finance expert Xu Wei broke down the subject across three dimensions — business, money, and people. Through case studies, live exercises, and practical tools, she helped founding teams learn how to identify operational problems and spot business opportunities hidden in their data, how to manage costs and adjust cash flow at different stages, and how to build finance teams and recruit key financial talent appropriate to each phase of growth.

More than 90 founders, co-founders, CFOs, and finance leads from over 50 portfolio companies joined in person and online, representing sectors including AI, robotics, energy tech, consumer, and biopharma.

We've extracted some of the core insights from the session for fellow entrepreneurs.
