MaHui Member Weijiu Optoelectronics Closes Nearly 100 Million Yuan Angel+ Round to Accelerate R&D and Commercialization

Source Code Capital was the angel-round investor in Weijiu Optoelectronics and has continued to support the company ever since.

MaHui member Micro Nine Optoelectronics (微玖光电) recently completed an angel+ round of nearly RMB 100 million, led by Yuanhe Origin, with Fibonacci Capital and Shunxi Fund participating. The proceeds will go toward business expansion, production capacity buildout, technology R&D, and market development — fueling growth in high-end micro-display applications such as AR glasses and automotive displays.

Notably, alongside these new high-profile investors, existing strategic investors iFlytek Ventures and Tongxin Capital also added to their stakes in this round, continuing to back Micro Nine from upstream critical equipment through downstream application markets. Source Code Capital, the company's angel-round investor, has supported and worked alongside the company since its founding.

Setting Industry Efficiency Benchmarks at "Micro Nine Speed"

Behind this star-studded cap table lies the company's rapid technical breakthroughs and commercialization pace.

Founded in December 2023 in Suzhou Industrial Park, Micro Nine Optoelectronics focuses on high-end micro-displays for AR glasses and automotive applications, developing and manufacturing high-performance red, green, blue monochrome and full-color Micro LED panels. Compared to industry peers, the company is relatively "young" — yet in less than two years, it has made significant strides in technology development, production line construction, market expansion, and IP portfolio building, laying solid groundwork for accelerated growth post-fundraising.

Through in-house R&D, the team mastered core technologies including eutectic and hybrid bonding processes, sidewall passivation, and ISO IBE etching. Within just eight months, it successfully developed a high-performance 0.12-inch RGB Micro LED micro-display, paired with a 0.15cc monochrome optical engine, as well as a 0.61-inch micro-display and display module for automotive projection — achieving the leap from technology breakthrough to product commercialization.

In May 2025, the company launched development of a 0.13-inch RGB Micro LED panel. Through process innovation and workflow optimization, the team compressed the typical R&D cycle by 40%, and by November 2025 had successfully developed a high-image-quality 0.13-inch RGB micro-display — once again setting a new industry record for Micro LED display modules.

90-Day Sprint to Production, Unlocking Mass Manufacturing

In October 2025, process equipment for the Suzhou pilot line was officially installed, with designed capacity to meet display demand for 3–4 million AR glasses units, while also serving applications such as automotive ADB matrix headlights and Micro LED optical communications.

The company has already established cooperation agreements with multiple downstream customers, with core products to be gradually qualified by clients following mass production.

To ensure efficient project execution, the company rapidly assembled a core team and implemented a 7×24 shift schedule, accelerating technology validation through an intensive R&D pace. After 90 days of round-the-clock effort, the pilot line achieved full process integration in January 2026, with parallel launch of RGB Micro LED mass production wafer starts. This breakthrough not only demonstrates the company's resolve and execution capability, but also injects new momentum into the industry's high-quality development.

From technology focus and team composition to capital structure and supply chain integration capabilities, Micro Nine Optoelectronics possesses a rare "full-chain first-mover advantage." However, with Micro LED commercialization still in a critical breakthrough phase, the company's future pace of advancement, cost control capabilities, mass production performance, and terminal partnership execution will be the key determinants of its success.
