The Year's Largest Embodied Artificial Intelligence Funding Round

Recently, MaHui member Galaxy Universal announced the completion of a new 2.5 billion yuan funding round, with investors including the National AI Industry Investment Fund, Sinopec, CITIC Investment Holdings, BOC Asset Management, SAIC Financial Holdings, China Fortune-Tech Capital, Beijing E-Town International Investment & Development Co., Ltd., Kunpeng Fund, Wuxi Venture Capital, Fujian Industry Investment, and Chengdu Sci-Tech Innovation Investment, among others. Several existing shareholders also increased their stakes.
Source Code Capital participated in both of Galaxy Universal's funding rounds, starting from the angel round.
Following this round, Galaxy Universal's cumulative funding firmly places it at the top of China's Embodied Artificial Intelligence sector, further cementing its position as the highest-valued unlisted company in the humanoid robotics space.
While capital paves the runway for technology, Galaxy Universal is choosing to redefine the track with its "embodied large model" — getting humanoid robots out of the lab and into the physical world, where they can perceive, decide, and act with intelligence and autonomy.
01
The world's largest embodied intelligence dataset, with an original virtual-real fusion training paradigm
Galaxy Universal has built the world's largest billion-scale embodied intelligence dataset, and pioneered the data infrastructure "AstraSynth," establishing a significant lead in data — the core production factor of this field.

AstraSynth Data Pyramid
The company pioneered a virtual-real fusion training paradigm that relies primarily on synthetic simulation data, supplemented by real robot data. In high-precision physics simulation environments, the system can generate massive volumes of diverse scenarios, allowing robots to experience extreme conditions in virtual worlds before completing real-world refinement with minimal actual robot data. This achieves robot training efficiency 1,000 times higher than Tesla's, while models trained on this dataset reach a 99% success rate — far surpassing global peers in embodied intelligence.
Through this virtual-real fusion data approach, Galaxy Universal has achieved few-shot and even zero-shot generalization capabilities, enabling humanoid robots to "infer by analogy" in new scenarios with new objects.
This approach fundamentally breaks through the cost and scale bottlenecks of real-world data collection, while solving the "data gap" problem from simulation to reality. Galaxy Universal is currently the only company globally to achieve a full closed-loop commercial chain from simulation data training to generalized grasping. This technical approach has received dual validation from both industry and capital markets.
During the August 2025 Big Data Expo, Galaxy Universal's "high-quality synthetic dataset" was officially released by the National Data Bureau as a typical case of high-quality datasets. This authoritative release on a national platform marks official recognition of Galaxy Universal's data technology approach, establishing it as a demonstration model for data infrastructure in embodied intelligence.

02
The world's first end-to-end embodied large model integrating full-body and full-hand control, reconstructing the underlying paradigm of physical intelligence
Galaxy Universal's self-developed "AstraBrain" is the world's first end-to-end embodied large model integrating "brain-cerebellum-neural control" into a single model, achieving generational leadership over traditional approaches in technical architecture.

AstraBrain Technical Framework
Currently, most in the industry develop "brain" (task planning), "cerebellum" (motion control), and "hand" (dexterous manipulation) separately, lacking a unified end-to-end large model. Information loss between modules leads to delayed responses and weak generalization capabilities.
AstraBrain fundamentally reconstructs this paradigm.
**AstraBrain is currently the world's only end-to-end embodied large model that connects "brain-cerebellum-neural control,"**打通ing the full chain from high-level multimodal perception to low-level real-time feedback control, achieving deep integration of whole-body coordination and full-hand fine manipulation, making robot movements as fluid and precise as human ones.
On the Spring Festival Gala stage, AstraBrain's capabilities were put to the ultimate test.
Whether controlling fingertip pressure while rotating walnuts, or adapting in real-time to the deformation of flexible objects while folding clothes, AstraBrain could perceive, adapt, and adjust instantly — behind this lies the model's deep understanding of interaction laws in the physical world.

AstraBrain's core breakthrough lies in high-dimensional generalization capability.
Traditional robots can only "do what they've seen," while AstraBrain, through a reinforcement learning framework, enables robots to undergo hundreds of millions of "trial-and-error games" in virtual worlds, acquiring general capabilities for "how to interact with the physical world." This allows robots to "watch, think, and act" like humans, rather than following preset trajectories for specific actions.

Top-tier team: Led by Stanford-returned scholars, building China's "strongest squad" in embodied intelligence
Galaxy Universal was founded by Dr. He Wang, a researcher at Peking University and Boya Young Fellow.
Dr. Wang graduated from Stanford University, studying under international computer vision master Professor Leonidas J. Guibas. He was among the earliest scholars globally to conduct research on end-to-end embodied large models. After returning to China, he founded the nation's first academic laboratory focused on embodied intelligence, spending over a decade on foundational technology research and laying a solid foundation for Galaxy Universal's technical originality.

The core team brings together AI and robotics experts from top universities including Peking University, Tsinghua University, Stanford, and Beihang University. The team has established complete coverage across the full technical stack of "brain-cerebellum-embodiment," combining both academic excellence and industry experience.
04
Multi-scenario scaled deployment, first to打通 the loop from "technological uncharted territory" to "embodied intelligent productivity"
Galaxy Universal has been the first to打通 the industrialization closed loop of "high-quality dataset + end-to-end large model + scaled application," achieving deep deployment in real-world scenarios across industry, retail, and healthcare, converting technical advantages into productivity advantages.
In industrial manufacturing, Galaxy Universal has secured deep partnerships with global leading customers including CATL, Bosch Group, Toyota, BAIC Group, and SAIC, with cumulative orders reaching several thousand units.
The team launched Galbot S1, the industry's first industrial heavy-load robot, directly addressing load pain points in manufacturing scenarios. With maximum dual-arm payload of 50 kg, the product meets industrial-grade standards and can operate continuously and stably under complex conditions including dust, vibration, and temperature variation. The product is equipped with an embodied搬运 model and can autonomously perform battery swaps, filling a gap in industrial-grade embodied intelligence applications. It was released as a significant achievement at the Beijing AI Innovation Highland Promotion Conference.
Galaxy Universal's Galbot S1 has achieved fully autonomous operation in complex industrial scenarios at CATL's battery factories, withstanding rigorous real-world testing. It is the only humanoid robot to achieve normalized operations at CATL. Notably, Galaxy Universal is also the only embodied intelligence enterprise that CATL has invested in to date.
In cultural tourism and new consumption, within less than six months of launch, Galaxy Universal achieved the world's first hundred-unit scale autonomous robot operation, with "Galaxy Space Capsule" convenience stores deployed in over 100 locations across more than 20 domestic cities. These became hotspots for residents during the Spring Festival, validating the commercial sustainability of embodied intelligence in consumer scenarios. The Galaxy Space Capsule business model is at least four months ahead of Tesla's.

In instant retail and smart pharmacy, Galaxy Universal set the global industry record for the first 7×24 uninterrupted operation of an instant retail warehouse for over one year. Currently deployed in 24 cities, each store manages over 5,000 SKUs, turning the concept of "never-closing-at-night" instant retail into reality and providing tangible services for people's daily lives.
In healthcare and elderly care, Galaxy Universal has established deep partnerships with top-tier tertiary hospitals including Xuanwu Hospital and West China Hospital, driving robot deployment in wards, pharmacies, and patient guidance scenarios, genuinely empowering healthcare systems to improve efficiency.
