In October 2025, MaHui portfolio company Cygnus Biosciences (赛纳生物) completed a new funding round exceeding RMB 100 million and successfully closed the transaction. The round was led by Shunxi Fund and Beijing E-Town International Investment & Development Co., Ltd. This infusion of capital not only provides Cygnus Biosciences with strong momentum for growth but also signals the capital market's strong endorsement of the company's technological innovation capabilities and future potential.

Following this round, Cygnus Biosciences will focus its efforts on two core priorities: R&D innovation and market expansion. On the R&D front, the company will continue investing in core gene sequencing technologies, build a team capable of sustained innovation, accelerate the launch of sequencing products tailored to diverse application scenarios, and continuously optimize existing product performance — all to provide more robust technical support for both scientific research and clinical applications. On the commercialization front, Cygnus Biosciences will actively pursue deep partnerships with collaborators to explore and expand into broader commercial application scenarios, maximizing the commercial value of its gene sequencing technology.

Through persistent technical accumulation, Cygnus Biosciences has successfully launched its S-series and P-series gene sequencers. The S100 sequencer in the S-series has obtained EU CE-IVDR certification and, in February 2024, received approval from the National Medical Products Administration (registration number: 国械注准20243220383), clearing it for clinical use. The S200 gene sequencer offers significant advantages in fast detection speed, high data quality, and low operating costs, and has been widely deployed in pathogen genome sequencing, infectious disease tracing, and other fields, providing powerful technical support for disease control and prevention work. The P-series gene sequencing platforms, P1000 and P1000X, can deliver single-run sequencing throughput ranging from 0.3Tb to 40Tb.

Dr. Zitian Chen, CEO of Cygnus Biosciences, expressed his sincere gratitude for the forward-looking policy support from governments at all levels and for the professional trust placed in the company by the investors in this round. "As an innovative enterprise dedicated to the gene sequencing field, we will use this capital injection as an accelerator and focus on three priorities: first, continuing to increase R&D investment to achieve breakthroughs in critical areas such as domestic production of sequencers and independent development of reagents and consumables; second, deepening ecosystem partnerships with research institutes and medical institutions to build a complete closed loop from technology development to clinical application; and third, driving the democratization of technology so that more ordinary people can afford and benefit from genetic testing services. Cygnus Biosciences firmly believes that only by closely aligning corporate growth with national strategy and public needs can we truly achieve a win-win between commercial value and social value."
