Pioneered high-throughput single-cell microbial sequencing technology
#MaKe Key Updates from Source Code Capital and MaHui Members

Recently, MaHui member MobiDrop (Zhejiang) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "MobiDrop") announced the completion of a nearly 100 million yuan Series A+ funding round. This round was led by LYFE Capital, with existing investor Source Code Capital and local government guidance fund Yunxiang Fund participating, providing comprehensive support for the company's development. According to sources, the proceeds from this round will primarily be used to further expand the company's single-cell product R&D pipeline, vigorously advance the development and promotion of its globally unique high-throughput microbial single-cell genomics platform (MobiMicrobe™), and continue pushing forward on product R&D, production, commercialization, and market expansion — with a focus on accelerating the creation of a diverse, efficient single-cell ecosystem alongside other industry players.
MobiDrop was founded at Harvard University in 2018. Based on a world-leading droplet microfluidics technology platform, MobiDrop is committed to empowering scientific research and precision medicine through innovative microfluidics and single-cell sequencing technologies, upgrading diagnostic and testing quality, advancing life science research, and bringing more efficient solutions to researchers, physicians, and patients. Previously, in August 2021, MobiDrop raised 150 million yuan in a Series A round led by Huagai Medical Yangtze River Delta Early Fund, with Source Code Capital and Biling Ventures participating. This Series A+ round once again attracts professional investors, demonstrating MobiDrop's strong independent innovation capabilities and broad commercial prospects.
Since its founding, MobiDrop has focused on microfluidics and single-cell sequencing technology innovation and development. It has currently established two major product lines — single-cell sequencing and digital PCR — with key technologies spanning microfluidics, sequencing, biochemistry, hardware development, and bioinformatics. According to sources, MobiDrop is advancing multiple pipelines including single-cell transcriptome products, with over 15 development projects also in progress.
At present, MobiDrop's flagship product is the MobiNova®-100 high-throughput single-cell transcriptome solution, which includes the MobiNova®-100 single-cell sequencing library construction system, MobiCube® single-cell transcriptome library preparation reagents and chips, and MobiVision® bioinformatics analysis software. This product series matches world-class standards, delivering high quality and cost-effectiveness as a comprehensive alternative. Its applications span life science research, liquid biopsy, companion diagnostics, and other fields.
Additionally, MobiDrop has achieved a technological breakthrough in the global microbiology field. Its MobiMicrobe™ high-throughput microbial single-cell genomics sequencing technology has ushered microbial research into the high-throughput single-cell era. The research findings were published in the top-tier journal Science and attracted widespread attention, carrying significant scientific meaning and application value.

Dr. Hao Pei, Founder and CEO of MobiDrop, stated: "The MobiDrop team has built up deep expertise over time. With internationally leading technology capabilities, we have efficiently developed a first-class domestic single-cell sequencing technology platform and product — the MobiNova®-100 high-throughput single-cell transcriptome solution — and officially embarked on commercialization this year. The successful completion of this funding round represents the capital and industry communities' deep understanding and recognition of both the single-cell sequencing track and MobiDrop. I sincerely thank our new and existing investors for their trust and support. Following this round, MobiDrop will devote more resources to building a complete single-cell multi-omics product matrix, continuously expanding our product lines, enriching product dimensions, and establishing product systems and technological barriers. We will continue to increase throughput and reduce costs, making single-cell technology accessible to more scientific research and accelerating the translation from research to clinical applications to serve life and health. MobiDrop is committed to building an integrated domestic and international R&D platform, and looks forward to working with other industry practitioners to create a diverse, efficient ecosystem."
A Source Code Capital investor commented: "MobiDrop's pioneering high-throughput microbial single-cell sequencing technology represents a scientific breakthrough in the microbiomics field, embodying a new paradigm of cross-disciplinary innovation in life sciences. The MobiDrop founding team brings diverse backgrounds, cross-disciplinary expertise, and decades of R&D and commercialization experience at top-tier multinational medical device companies. Source Code Capital has consistently valued cross-disciplinary innovation, and will leverage its rich industry experience and global resource network to support MobiDrop's continued innovation. We look forward to MobiDrop achieving even greater development through its scientific research accomplishments."
