IrisView, a next-gen OS R&D platform, closes two consecutive rounds totaling nearly RMB 100 million, with Source Code Capital leading the A+ round
Focused on building a next-generation operating system for next-gen devices like AR/VR headsets.

IrisView recently announced two consecutive funding rounds — a Series A and a Series A+ — totaling nearly RMB 100 million, led by GSR Ventures and Source Code Capital, respectively.
Founded in 2016, IrisView focuses on building a next-generation operating system for AR/VR and other next-gen terminal devices. The company aims to accelerate the arrival of the spatial internet and enable more efficient, seamless interaction between people and information by exploring, implementing, and promoting next-generation application frameworks.

Multi-tasking scenarios
After more than five years of development and sustained effort from a top-tier R&D team, IrisView has partnered with numerous B2B and consumer brands, including leading smartphone manufacturers. The company provides underlying systems for multiple XR products, has co-developed reference designs with ODM vendors, accumulated substantial industry experience, and built an extensive partnership network across the supply chain.
Founder Shunhao Fan is a graduate of Tsinghua University's Yao Class, where he served as its first student union president. Fan stated: "From an industry perspective, the XR sector has already reached considerable scale and will maintain high growth over the long term. In the VR market, Facebook's recent rebrand to Meta signals a full commitment to the metaverse, Quest shipments continue to climb, and major players like Apple and ByteDance are making frequent moves in hardware. In AR, technical bottlenecks in core components such as optics are being progressively resolved. Sustained investment across the industry is accelerating the inflection point for the XR market.
From a technology evolution standpoint, our interaction with computers has progressed from keyboard-driven command lines in MS-DOS, to mouse-driven graphical desktops in Windows, to finger-touch interfaces on iOS and Android. As next-generation communications technology and XR hardware continue to advance, information will be projected into space in more immersive, three-dimensional ways, and our interactions with computers will shift from two-dimensional planes to three-dimensional spaces. This represents a fundamental transformation in human-computer interaction, and XR devices are poised to become the next computing platform after PCs and smartphones.
The metaverse has garnered significant attention this year, driven not only by major tech companies but also by market enthusiasm for the next evolution of mobile internet. IrisView is eager to work alongside hardware, application, content, and algorithm partners across the industry to drive a new wave in IT and bring entirely new human-computer interaction experiences to every future user."

Wanrong Zhao of Source Code Capital commented: "Operating systems are an indispensable part of the future XR ecosystem, and the 3D multi-tasking system that the IrisView team has quietly developed over many years is increasingly gaining industry recognition. In the vast ocean of opportunities that the XR era represents, both the team's technical capabilities and Shunhao's strategic vision for the future industry landscape give us confidence that IrisView could become one of the brightest stars of the XR age."
