Semiconductor tech company **Raytron** announced the completion of a Pre-A funding round in the tens of millions of dollars. Source Code Capital was the sole investor in its angel round.

Raysolve recently announced the completion of a tens-of-millions-of-dollars Pre-A funding round, led by Gaorong Ventures with Yaotu Capital as a co-investor. Taihe Capital served as the exclusive financial advisor. The proceeds will fund R&D iteration and small-batch production of the company's standardized full-color Micro-LED micro-display chip — the first of its kind globally — to meet urgent demand from tier-one terminal manufacturers at home and abroad.
Raysolve previously closed an angel round with Source Code Capital as the sole investor. In just six months, the company has completed two rounds, raising nearly RMB 100 million in total.
Founded in 2019, Raysolve is a high-tech company focused on Micro-LED micro-display chip architecture design, process development, and monolithic full-color technology research. Its core team hails from the Department of Electronic and Computer Engineering at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, bringing years of experience in cutting-edge optoelectronic chip design and manufacturing. In 2019, the team unveiled the world's first monolithic full-color Micro-LED micro-display chip in Silicon Valley.
Raysolve believes AR is the inevitable gateway to the metaverse, but today's bulky head-mounted AR "helmets" are not only cumbersome — their low display brightness also limits application scenarios. Truly lightweight consumer-grade AR smart glasses will free users from heavy headsets, enabling interaction between the physical and virtual worlds in everyday settings, much like the slick applications seen in Free Guy.
"Thanks to advances in third-generation semiconductor technology, we have built globally leading full-color Micro-LED display technology and solutions. Raysolve's Micro-LED micro-display chips deliver high brightness, high contrast, high luminous efficiency, compact size, low power consumption, and low packaging costs," emphasized Dr. Yongzhang Zhuang, Raysolve's founder and CEO. He noted that most Micro-LED micro-display companies worldwide still follow the flip-chip technical route, which has clear limitations in alignment precision and pixel size. The technology itself cannot achieve ultra-micro pixel dimensions and is unsuitable for applications requiring ultra-high pixel density, such as AR smart glasses. Raysolve's proprietary large-scale epitaxial transfer technology ensures both ultra-high pixel density and high manufacturability while delivering superior performance and lower power consumption — a foundational core technology that sets it apart from competitors.

Some background: in the Micro-LED field, two technical routes exist. The first achieves ultra-high pixel and resolution displays through mass transfer technology, but this is not suitable for micro-displays. The second route uses monolithic integration via semiconductor technology, designing and processing micro-display devices on CMOS driver wafers to achieve smaller pixel sizes and tighter pixel pitches. Currently, Micro-LED micro-display chips worldwide remain largely at the monochrome display level, with no mature monolithic full-color Micro-LED display solution yet available. On this second technical route, Raysolve is at the global forefront.

Raysolve's proprietary CoANODE™ ultra-high-brightness Micro-LED chip architecture, combined with large-scale GaN-on-Silicon epitaxial wafers and colorization coatings, produces ultra-high-precision full-color Micro-LED micro-display chips that meet the display requirements of small-form-factor, high-brightness interactive applications such as AR smart glasses.
Raysolve boasts strong team capabilities and deep technical expertise. Dr. Zhuang studied under renowned HKUST photoelectronics professor Kei May Lau, with over fifteen years of experience in semiconductor process and materials R&D, and has consistently worked on third-generation semiconductors and Micro-LED-related research. He has published more than 30 papers in prestigious international journals and holds 60 patents, and has previously received honors including Suzhou Industrial Park Leading Talent and Gusu Leading Talent.
