Raysolve recently announced the successful light-up of its 0.39-inch monolithic full-color Micro-LED microdisplay chip, marking a breakthrough in the product standardization process. This milestone represents a critical step for monolithic full-color Micro-LED technology from concept to commercial product, promising revolutionary advances for next-generation consumer AR glasses.

As is widely recognized, achieving monolithic full-color integration remains one of the primary bottlenecks constraining Micro-LED adoption.

Raysolve has innovatively adopted quantum dot color conversion technology, using standard photolithography processes to create high-resolution, high-efficiency quantum dot color conversion films compatible with GaN blue Micro-LEDs. Blue light excites red and green quantum dots, converting blue light into red and green — enabling RGB primary colors on a single chip to achieve full-color integration. Through a proprietary optical isolation structure, the company effectively reduces RGB color crosstalk, achieving higher contrast and color saturation. Meanwhile, photolithography-based quantum dot technology addresses the efficiency and brightness limitations of native red light, delivering a qualitative leap in overall full-color chip brightness.

For quantum dot color conversion applications, the most critical metric is blue light absorption efficiency — insufficient absorption compromises color purity. Raysolve's self-developed monolithic full-color Micro-LED microdisplay technology, building on conventional film preparation conditions, dramatically improves blue light absorption efficiency and color stability through optical design, material modification, and process optimization, achieving high-conversion-efficiency quantum dot films with lower mass ratio and thinner layers. Additionally, the technology's compatibility with semiconductor processes enables monolithic full-color Micro-LED microdisplays to be manufactured through standard, efficient semiconductor fabrication, laying a solid foundation for mass production.

The Raysolve team first unveiled the world's first monolithic full-color Micro-LED microdisplay chip in Silicon Valley back in 2019, pioneering breakthroughs in full-color Micro-LED microdisplay technology. The full-color process used in this 0.39-inch chip will also be applied to upcoming standardized full-color chips.

Dr. Yongzhang Zhuang, Raysolve's founder and CEO, stated: "Raysolve's monolithic full-color Micro-LED microdisplay chips are purpose-built for consumer AR glasses pursuing lightweight, ultra-portable, high-brightness, high-resolution performance — delivering the capabilities and exceptional experience users expect. The light-up of our 0.39-inch full-color Micro-LED microdisplay is merely our first step, yet a pivotal milestone. As our R&D team continues to expand and product standardization processes steadily improve, we are advancing toward smaller form factors, with the aspiration that in the near future, AR glasses will transcend being mere extension displays for smartphones to become the true next-generation intelligent mobile platform."
