XYZ Robotics, a company specializing in robotic hand-eye coordination application technology, announced the completion of a nearly $20 million Series A+ funding round led by Source Code Capital.

Deep learning, 3D geometric vision, and optimal motion planning algorithms enable fully automated sorting in category-specific warehouses.

XYZ Robotics, a technology company focused on robotic hand-eye coordination applications, has officially announced the completion of its Series A+ funding round, raising nearly $20 million. The round was led by Source Code Capital, with Gaorong Ventures and 5Y Capital making oversubscribed follow-on investments. LightSource Capital served as the exclusive financial advisor for this round.

Founded by CMU Robotics PhD Jiaji Zhou, MIT EECS PhD Peter Yu, and Peking University master's graduate Libo Xingliang, XYZ Robotics is the only team in the world to have placed in the top three of the Amazon Robotics Picking Challenge for three consecutive years.

In the logistics industry, grasping unregistered items of varying shapes and colors represents the biggest challenge in automated picking. XYZ Robotics achieves fully automated sorting across entire category warehouses by combining leading deep learning, 3D geometric vision, optimal motion planning algorithms, and a globally patented quick-change gripper system. Its products lead across all key performance indicators — picking efficiency, SKU coverage rate, human intervention rate, and more. The company reduces reliance on hardware performance through advanced algorithms, delivering high-cost-performance products and solutions. Take a recently delivered warehouse picking workstation for a top domestic logistics client: deployed 13 days before peak sales season, it achieved stable operational delivery on the peak day itself, with 99.9% accuracy and a two-year payback period.

XYZ Robotics putwall station in operation

Beyond continuously deepening its product and market advantages in logistics applications, XYZ Robotics has demonstrated rapid scenario migration and expansion capabilities built on accumulated technology. By digesting and understanding standard processes in production line and logistics contexts, the company leverages its unique software and hardware capabilities to deliver entirely new processes and user experiences to the industry, unlocking scenarios previously considered unmanageable or prohibitively expensive — such as mixed-case palletizing with uncontrollable incoming carton sequences and high-speed ingredient dispensing on industrial production lines.

XYZ Robotics applied to mixed-case palletizing scenario

With three core technical capabilities — vision, path planning, and end-effector grippers — XYZ Robotics has developed standardized scenarios and simplified deployment as its core product strengths. Across its three main product lines — small-item sorting in logistics, large-item mixed-case palletizing and depalletizing, and industrial loading/unloading and ingredient dispensing — the company is showing rapid replication trends and has won broad order recognition from end customers, system integrators, and domestic and international clients.

Regarding this Series A+ round, Jiaji Zhou, co-founder and CEO of XYZ Robotics, said: "We thank Source Code Capital, 5Y Capital, and Gaorong Ventures for their recognition and support. The company will continue to deeply understand logistics scenarios and production line processes, enabling robotic hand-eye coordination to empower more scalable replicable scenarios faster and better. Every bit of progress and achievement at XYZ Robotics is the result of our team's collective effort. We will transform the resources and support from capital markets into an even stronger talent team, using talent and technological advantages to drive product and market advantages, with product and market capabilities in turn reinforcing our talent team building."

As the lead investor in this round, Chen Runze of Source Code Capital said: "From mobility to visual perception, grasping, and motion, robots are physically becoming increasingly capable of approaching human abilities. In the next stage, robots will iterate faster driven by data, algorithms, and computing power, penetrating more scenarios. XYZ Robotics has assembled outstanding R&D, engineering, and commercialization talent. We believe that focus and deep immersion will enable the company to continuously break through across more scenarios and products, making robotic hand-eye coordination technology a more universally adopted industrial infrastructure."

XYZ Robotics will use the proceeds from this round primarily for R&D, sales expansion, and daily operations, further strengthening its R&D and market development capabilities, vigorously accelerating its commercial scaling process, and continuously reinforcing its technological leadership position.
